About three things I was absolutely positive: First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him–and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be–that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him. “I’D NEVER GIVEN MUCH THOUGHT TO HOW I WOULD DIE– I’d had reason enough in the last few months –but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this. . . . Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of something else, someone I loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something.” When Isabella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret. What Bella doesn’t realize is the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself and those around her at risk. And, it might be too late to turn back. . . . Deeply seductive and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight will have readers riveted right until the very last page is turned.

"Ah, time to commit reading blasphemy. I adored this book. I loved the whole series. It was light, easy, and enjoyable. Nothing about it bothered me enough to join the never ending stream of mainstream book bashers. Sure, sometimes I wished Edward would stop whining, but I wish the same thing of all the people who so desperately want to hate this book, so really, what's the difference? I liked the teenage aspect of the whole thing and I wasn't disappointed by the writing. I loved it."

“Propelled by suspense and romance in equal parts this story will keep readers madly flipping the pages of Meyer's tantalizing debut.”
— Publishers Weekly“This dark romance is gripping.”
— Booklist (starred review)“Twilight will have readers dying to sink their teeth into it.”
— School Library Journal (starred review)" Absolutely loved listening to this! All of the details that differ from the books are so great and helps you really understand the meaning behind things! Great for road trips! "
— Andrea, 5/31/2022" Yeah, arguably perhaps it is not the most well-written book that you will ever read, but then it is written from the perspective of a teenager, so in my eyes, that doesn't detract from the book. Meyer knows how to tell a good story, and I have enjoyed reading it each time I have read it. I liked the setting; the descriptions of the locations were quite vivid. It's a clever, modern Romeo and Juliet-style story, with a paranormal twist. "
— Sammi, 2/18/2014" entertaining: not great "
— Richard, 2/8/2014" LOVED this book, brilliant. Found it very hard to put down "
— Jacqui, 1/29/2014" I finished this in nearly one sitting not because I couldn't get enough but because the writing was simple. Bella is disgusting. Sad that our girls are looking to this weak character for inspiration in their romantic lives. "
— Liz, 1/3/2014" boring........... "
— Sara, 12/31/2013" This is the only book I have read of the series (unfortunately--but i do have the rest waiting for me!) It absolutely captivated me during my senior year of high school. I tore through the pages, finishing the book in less than a week. I look forward to getting to the rest of them some day soon! "
— Mia, 12/10/2013" Quite a simple, mundane plot. But I feel like if Twilight hadn't recieved all the hype, there wouldn't be as many YA novels being translated to films these days. I think this is everyones first step into the world of young adult literature. "
— Kinga, 12/8/2013" Team Jacob! "
— Stacey, 11/21/2013" Great story. First book my stepdaughter and I read together "
— Sonia, 11/8/2013" Despite what people say about this series, I enjoyed it. This book is the best of the four. It's an easy and entertaining read. Definitely a spin on what we have always presumed vampires to be. "
— Jacque, 11/6/2013" ...No comment....... "
— Brittany, 10/23/2013" Really enjoyed loosing myself in this book, got grief from family because I couldn't put it down. "
— Georgina, 10/21/2013" Unlike anything I'd read before and since. Bubblegum reading. "
— Merilee, 10/10/2013" Great read. Latest I ever stayed up reading was on the second book. "
— Cindy, 10/3/2013" I am such a fan "
— Allison, 7/10/2013" Basically read these just for the love of reading. Also I happened to be a teenage girl so I had to do it, for stereotype purposes. The writing is subpar but you get wrapped up in the story and just can't stop...That happens to me in eery book I read so I guess it's not saying much. "
— Arielle, 5/28/2013" This was an amazing book with so much detail. I am probably going to re-read this in the near future "
— Shanea, 5/5/2013" Good book although abit boring in places "
— Martine, 12/31/2012" Best out of the Saga! "
— Krystina, 12/8/2012" Main character is an uncompelling, empty vessel. Meyer has about six adjectives in her arsenal. Arguably my least favorite book of all time. "
— Caitlin, 9/2/2012" *shrug* "
— Theresa, 5/12/2012" Mi favorito junto con Sol de Medianoche "
— Marta, 1/2/2012" I didn't even get past the first chapter. No offense to the Twilight lovers out there, but I didn't like it one bit. That's just my opinion "
— Cody, 12/25/2011" i love this hole serries and have watched all except the 4th movie "
— Trinity Bond, 12/5/2011" If I it was possible to give it zero stars, I would. "
— Angelina, 9/21/2011" I'm the only person I know who detested the contrived dialogue of this book. Blech. "
— Kimberley, 7/16/2011" Enjoyed the descriptions but way too emotional for me, geared to a much younger reader. "
— Ann, 6/18/2011" ITS A SIMPLY BREATHTAKING FANTASY! "
— Diana, 5/25/2011" Of course I love the entire series but if I had to rate them, this one would be last "
— Hilly, 5/23/2011" this book is awesome i luv it.......<br/>it has lots of suspense nd action nd the vampires in this novel are awesome..... "
— Princess, 5/23/2011" Felt cheated by the ending of the series. I won't spoil the end for others, but I was not happy with the way the series wrapped up. The author's writing did improve greatly with each new book in the series and that was fun to observe as I read the books. "
— Crystal, 5/22/2011" My favourite about the four, despite that I was not fully able to appreciate the Happy Ending; I was intrigued by the mishap in the second part of the book and charmed by Bella and Edward's child; Renesmee "
— M.C., 5/22/2011" I remember going out and buying this book the day it came out and reading it in two days. It was so wonderful. I think everyone was so excited just for Bella and Edward to finally have a love scene. Steamy. :) "

— Leah, 5/21/2011Stephenie Meyer is the bestselling author of the widely popular Twilight Saga. It all started on June 2, 2003, when the stay-at-home mother of three young sons woke up from a dream featuring seemingly real characters that she could not get out of her head. She invented the plot during the day then wrote it out late at night, when the house was quiet. Three months later she finished her first novel, Twilight. Twilight was one of 2005’s most talked about novels, and within weeks of its release the book debuted at number five on the New York Times bestseller list. The highly-anticipated sequel, New Moon, was released in September 2006 and has spent more than twenty-five weeks at the number-one position on the New York Times bestseller list. In 2007, Eclipse landed literally around the world and fans made the Twilight Saga a worldwide phenomenon. Meyer’s highly anticipated debut novel for adults, The Host, debuted at number one on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists. The Twilight novels have since been made into blockbuster films, launching Meyer even further into the spotlight.
