Publisher Description

**A humorous southern mystery**

For Rose Gardner, working at the DMV on a Friday afternoon is bad even before she sees a vision of herself dead. She's had plenty of visions, usually boring ones like someone's toilet's overflowed, but she's never seen one of herself before. When her overbearing momma winds up murdered on her sofa instead, two things are certain: There isn't enough hydrogen peroxide in the state of Arkansas to get that stain out, and Rose is the prime suspect.

Rose realizes she's wasted 24 years of living and makes a list on the back of a Wal-Mart receipt: 28 things she wants to accomplish before her vision comes true. She's well on her way with the help of her next door neighbor Joe, who has no trouble teaching Rose the rules of drinking, but won't help with number 15 - do more with a man. Joe's new to town, but it doesn't take a vision for Rose to realize he's got plenty secrets of his own.

Somebody thinks Rose has something they want and they'll do anything to get it. Her house is broken into, someone else she knows is murdered, and suddenly, dying a virgin in the Fenton County jail isn't her biggest worry after all.

"This book is such a delightful story and it is truly full of Southern charm and humor! I loved reading of Rose's transformation from a timid and beat-down girl into a beautiful and confident young woman, no longer afraid to stand up for herself and no longer willing to stand on the sidelines and watch her life pass her by. She is a character that you cannot help but root for. Also, you cannot help but root for her and Joe's developing relationship- while she may not have been your typical damsel in distress he was very much so a knight in shining armor, doing everything in his power to keep her safe (even if it was something as simple as changing her lock) and putting her safety before his own. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Denise is such an amazing author and I am so happy to have happened across her!"

" I decided to give this book a shot after finding it in the free section of Amazon, and I'm so glad I did! I wasn't sure quite what to make of this book after the first chapter, but the story kept me engaged and guessing until the very end. I love Rose and Joe and downloaded the next book in the series right away! Can't wait until the third comes out! "

" I had to read the book in small pieces because even though I liked it, the characters were doing such stupid things that it drove me crazy. I realize Rose hadn't really lived her life before, but she decided to be stubborn about stupid things. She was willing to stay in her house by herself after her mother was killed and there had been multiple attempted break-ins. (view spoiler)[Rose saw Joe plant a gun in her shed and still trusted him (hide spoiler)]. Joe wasn't much better and I expected more of Violet. My problem is I liked the characters, even as they were doing stupidly insane things, so there is a good chance I will check out the next book in the series. "

" Fun, easy read with a quirky, innocent southern heroine who sees visions and a hunky guy next door. Romance. mystery and humor all rolled into one story. Plot was predictable, but I enjoyed the writing style. Maybe I need to make a list... "
