"After a long break I finally came to the end of the audiobook. I really loved the story and Burn Gorman's brilliant narration, but sadly enough I'm so poor at listening that I couldn't enjoy the whole story in detail. I will have to read the book version sometime."

" Reading this book was kind of like reading bad fan-fiction. It's early in the series, so I'll give the author the benefit of the doubt in case they ever try to write again. "

" Other than Jack being quite moody and making long reflections, even going downright philosophical (on variations of apples!) though not to much effect to solving the problem at hand at the beginning of the book and not being that arrogantly confident and flippant Jack we know at all, oh and Owen opening his heart all of a sudden to a girl held under observation in the Hub, sharing a lot about himself that genuinely and sincerely under those circumstances does not make sense to me at all, book is well written on the action side, not much humor like in Torchwood: Border Princesbut a nice regular episode's worth of Torchwood taste. " Maybe it was the cold medicine I was taking at the time, but this story felt kind of flat to me. It was good to see more of Rhys than we often do in the TV show, and the characters were well-executed, but I could not get myself to care much about the aliens in the diet center despite the gut-wrenching (literally) and gory attempts at suspense. " As good as Another Life. Really enjoyed, as a fan of the TV series. A diet pill that is eating people alive, and an alien device that magnifies emotions. "

" I found this to be the best-written of the Torchwood books so far. The author really captured the characters well and had a great level of sarcastic humor. It worked nicely for a Torchwood fix between shows. "

" Better than "Another Life", but still best for people who love the show already. The tale retold here is a Torchwood spin on an old gross-out anecdote told by many a biology teacher... but I won't spoil the fun for you. "

" Satisfyingly stupid, with a pinch of baffling alien technology, a dash of questionable medical ethics, and gallons of blood. Overtones of troubled relationships, rotating interior monologues, and the dashing, mysterious American hero to bail everybody out. Stir briefly; mixture will still be lumpy. "
