"Ellie and her friends return from camping in Hell, only to find that Australia has been invaded by an unknown enemy and their families and friends are being held captive. They return to Hell and become guerrilla soldiers doing all they can with their limited means and knowledge to create havoc for the enemy as they try to stay alive in a country that is no longer theirs. Great start to a wonderful series."

" Why didn't I know about these books? Hunger Games loving friends, check this out. Smart, fast-paced, feminist, and very readable. Surprisingly not dated, excepting only the absence of cell phones. Better than probably any of the dystopian YA coming out these days. "

" This book started out kind of slow and had some slow moments. I think it gave detail that the story did not need. Other wise it was a pretty good book. "

" THIS BOOK WAS INTERESTING BECAUSE YOU GOT TO SEE WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE LIVING AND TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM PEOPLE INVADING YOUR COUNTRY AND HOW IT WOULD FELL AND HOW YOU WOULD HAVE TO COPE. "

" A really interesting post-apocalyptic book, but more for young adults, like Harry Potter reading level. Very much like Red Dawn...except a book...set in Australia. "

" okay but to be honest I found a whole lot of the characters annoying and unrealistic. I totally ship Homer and Ellie - not Ellie and lee /:) if I knew it was such a long series I probably wouldn't of read this. I've never heard of the film either... "

" I could not put this book down! I was hooked after the first few chapters. It is fantastic. Not only is it a great page turner, but it also made me think a lot about what I would do if I were in the characters situation. I cant wait to read the rest of the series!!!! "
