" This 4th book of the Hellions of Halstead Hall is about Gabe, the reckless, horse-racing brother. The heroine is Virginia Waverly, the sister of his late best friend. Gabe has always felt guilt about the death of his best friend because Roger died while racing Gabe. For some reason, I just couldn't get into this book. I think it was because at the beginning of the book, Gabe made the decision to court Virginia and clearly likes her but you don't really know why. Also, some of the scenes, especially on the stud farm that Virgina's grandfather owns, made me think I was reading a Contemporary Cowboy Romance. The wording and the circumstances seemed very modern and American, plus, Virginia gives in way too fast, in my opinion, to Gabe's physical advances. This was a nice, pleasant read but probably the weakest in the series. However, the final book, with Celia and the Bow Street Runner, looks fantastic and I can't wait to read it. "
