There's no place like home, they say. "Hello, I'm Nina Parker…and I'm an alcoholic." For Nina, it's not the weighty admission but the first steps toward recovery that prove most difficult. She must face her ex-husband, Hunt, with little hope of making amends, and try to rebuild a relationship with her angry teenage daughter, Meagan. Hardest of all, she is forced to return to Abbey Hills, Missouri, the hometown she abruptly abandoned nearly two decades earlier–and her unexpected arrival in the sleepy Ozark town catches the attention of someone–or something–igniting a two-hundred-fifty-year-old desire that rages like a wildfire. Unaware of the darkness stalking her, Nina is confronted with a series of events that threaten to unhinge her sobriety. Her daughter wants to spend time with the parents Nina left behind. A terrifying event that has haunted Nina for almost twenty years begins to surface. And an alluring neighbor initiates an unusual friendship with Nina, but is Markus truly a kindred spirit or a man guarding dangerous secrets? As everything she loves hangs in the balance, will Nina's feeble grasp on her demons be broken, leaving her powerless against the thirst? The battle between redemption and obsession unfold to its startling, unforgettable end.

"A Christian Vampire novel?? Why yes indeed. I gave it 5 stars because I thought the concept was intriguing. I did enjoy the book a great deal too. It deals with a lot of different issues, plus there's vampires. It's probably not for everyone, but i liked it. =D"

" i thought it would be a better ending but it was still good!!!!!!!!! the end was sad!!! "
— Tilequa, 2/13/2014" I am not into vampire books. It didnt really go into that part of it. The book was okay. "
— Angela, 2/10/2014" No what I thought it was going to be but none the less still a very interesting story. Easy fast read. "
— Lorena, 2/6/2014" Easy, fast read. Nothing spectacular, but I did enjoy reading it. "
— Jennifer, 2/4/2014" I had no idea this was a Christian book until I was already home from the library. The storyline of the book -- a recovering alcoholic trying to get her life back and regain her family's trust, mixed in with a vampire on the loose seemed really interesting. It was a super quick read and gave a little glimpse into what it's like to live with addiction. "
— Jennifer, 1/28/2014" I had no idea what this book was about when I started it, except that the main character had a drinking problem. I thought by the cover it might have something to do with vampires, but I never would have thought someone would write a "Christian vampire" novel. It was kind of weird and interesting, but I won't be reading it again. "
— Cindy, 1/17/2014" Well written but unexpected a better vampire story so disappointed on that level- still great story on a whole though but not what I was expecting "
— Amydeanne, 1/15/2014" The alcoholic and the vampire: both good ideas that probably shouldn't have been combined. Top that off with an abrupt, tidy 'happily ever after', and you've got a book that's only good for killing a couple of hours (hence the two stars). This one definitely goes on my swap-out pile. "
— Ilsa, 1/8/2014" A vampire novel with Christian undertones??? I kinda loved it. "
— Becca, 1/1/2014" Great book for a day at the beach. "
— Delicia, 12/20/2013" This book was just ok. It was slow at times. "

— Seneca, 5/13/2012" I soooo did not see the vampire angle coming. This is a pretty good book. I don't remember ever reading a book about vampires I liked. This was easy on the vampire bit. "
— Jennifer, 11/11/2011" I thought I would try the world of adult vampires......still on Team Edward! "
— Jenny, 4/23/2011" Not a great book. I trudged through it. "
— Mark, 1/29/2011" Good story about overcoming your addictions. Not crazy about the vampire, witchcraft, and rituals that were in it. Good book but I wouldn't buy it. "
— Riot, 1/15/2011" This book was really awesome!!! I couldnt put it down! "
— Seneca, 12/18/2010" i thought it would be a better ending but it was still good!!!!!!!!! the end was sad!!! "
— Tilequa, 11/12/2010" Okay, this was a christian, recovering from alcohol, vampire, and angry kid book. The recovery part was good and went hand in hand with the angry kid part. The christian part was barely there. The vampire part seemed to be added after the rest of the book was written.

Not worth the time. "
— Mark, 10/21/2010" I liked this book. Parts made me want to cry. It's mostly about a woman recovering from her addiction to alcohol, the vampire side of it is not even really important to the story at all. It just makes a bit of suspense to the book. "
— Rebecca, 10/9/2010" Easy, fast read. Nothing spectacular, but I did enjoy reading it. "
— Jennifer, 10/7/2010" This book was just ok. It was slow at times. "
— Kimberly, 10/2/2010" A vampire novel with Christian undertones??? I kinda loved it. "
