Publisher Description

All Patrick Davis ever wanted to do was make movies, but after he gets his big break and sells his first screenplay, his life collapses. His Hollywood dreams crumble almost immediately, sending him back to his dreary day job, and he also finds his storybook marriage on the rocks.

Then ominous DVDs start being delivered to him—DVDs that show that someone is watching him and his wife, that the two of them are being stalked and recorded by cameras hidden around and within their house. Next the e-mails start, and someone offers to fix everything, to take the mess his life has become and make it all right. Patrick figures it’s the offer of a lifetime.

But Patrick couldn’t be more wrong. With every step, he moves deeper and deeper into a web of intrigue that threatens everything he still has and values in this world. Before he knows it, he’s in, and in deep—and the only way out is to outwit and outplay his unseen opponents at their own game.

"A terrific suspense novel, which has all the requisites of a riveting thriller: plenty of suspense, high stakes, intrigue, interesting characters, good writing, and a complex story with a satisfying conclusion. I've read three of Gregg Hurwitz's books so far, and definitely want to read more! "

" Like other reviews, I had a real hard time trying to figure out just why Patrick would feel so compelled to follow the original demand of an unseen menace. So what; they've got a couple of videos of you doing what...nothing illegal...big freaking deal! So after the first one, I can see where he might have latched onto some sort of a God complex or something...but the first...no way! Not buying it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the story after suspending my belief, and if you have a mind prone to bouts of paranoia, it'll get you thinking maybe it's not so far fetched. After all, you're not paranoid if the really ARE watching! "

" Thriller. About a couple being taped and the mystery of trying to figure out why and how. It was a quick fun read. The story went on a little too long so I lost interest at the end. But, the entire plot is kind of creepy to think about. Not scarey though.........because I don't like scarey. "

" Five stars is considering genre. But man, he's really a rarity. Someone who writes "traditional" thrillers (ie not "literary" ones) but who is also a REALLY good writer. Plot-wise, I don't love him more than a lot of other authors I've read, but his writing is awesome. "
