Publisher Description

If you've ever been there, you've never forgotten. The feeling is as haunting and familiar as the smell of a junior-high-school locker room. It's the feeling of being undersized or oversized...or klutzy or less than beautiful. Of being a nerd...or a geek or just, somehow, different. It's knowing you are vulnerable - and someone is ready and willing to take full advantage of your weakness by making your life miserable. It's the fraternity you never wanted to join - the fellowship of the wounded spirit.

In Frank Peretti's first nonfiction work, he examines the pain from his past and helps us uncover the scars in our own lives. Drawing from tragic news stories like Columbine, he illustrates how ridicule and rejection can push people beyond the brink. Then, with poignant insight, he shows us the way to heal the wounded spirit that lies within us all.

"This book was a real eye opener. It told the childhood of the author and how he was always picked on growing up, and then went into detail about how bullying is wrong and what we can do to prevent it. It also provides comfort to people who have been physically or mentally abused during life. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for solace from being bullied growing up, or even for anyone that would like to learn more about how to stop it."

" This book deals with the wounded spirit. In essence the core of the book deals with people that have been abused in life (bullied). The latter part of the book speaks of the individuals that do the abusing and how we can come together as a people and remedy this issue so that we can avoid events such as the columbine killings in the feature. Really good book and really interesting read. "
