"What an amazing lady! I really enjoyed her writing style and the story of her life. Although she had many difficulties, she persevered. Her stage fright was almost overwhelming but she finished the job. She overcame many problems and acknowledged the strength of her faith as a mainstay. "

— AudioFile" Delightful biography of Susan Boyle and her catapult into fame. "
— Sheila, 4/21/2011" It gets slow in the middle, but when you get to the part about her overnight fame and her incredibly honest reaction to it, it was very inspiring. "
— Jessica, 4/3/2011" its much more then a book about someone who won a talent show. "
— Tanya, 3/18/2011" A good read and a chance to appreciate the person behind the great voice. She has really had to stand up for herself from such a young age and interesting to read the facts rather than what the media had to say. "
— Marg, 3/8/2011" Susan is a very simple woman with some learning disabilities which makes it clearer why she has had so much trouble dealing with fame. I wish her the best. "
— kathi, 2/24/2011" I loved this book. She tells it like it is. She wrote the book as if you were sitting in the room with her chatting. She doesn't sugar coat her life or stardom. It is a real eye opener into how it is to be a star in todays world. "
— Debra, 1/31/2011" I so ENJOyED this book! Her Scottish banter comes through clearly, and Susan is very candid about her life and experiences. "
— Judith, 1/9/2011" I was moved and inspired by this account of a woman who struggled much of her life and then became an overnight sensation. "
— Chad, 1/5/2011" I just loved this book. What an excellent story. Susan, I wish you well. "

Susan Boyle was born in Blackburn, West Lothian, where she still lives. She shot to global fame on April 11, 2009, when she appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, singing “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical Les Misérables. The juxtaposition of the audience’s initial judgment of her plain appearance with the standing ovation she received during and after her performance led to an international media and Internet response. Within nine days of the audition, videos of Boyle—from the show, various interviews, and her 1999 rendition of “Cry Me a River”—were watched over 100 million times.
