Publisher Description

At home, with a baby, no one can hear you scream.

Most people think that once you’ve had your happy ever after, nothing can go wrong. But for Millie and Tom, their love did not have a fairy tale beginning.

It was not love at first sight, at least not for Millie. When the strength of their love for each other finally brings them together, their marriage is a chance to heal the wounds of their past and build a brighter future. For Tom, the arrival of their daughter is everything he ever dreamed about. But for Millie, the reality of motherhood becomes a lot darker. As they struggle to find their way out of the shadows of the past, will the flicker of their love be able to light their way home?

The Way Home is a powerful and heartbreaking novel about coming of age and becoming a parent.

It is about the pain of loss and the light of hope.

About Esther Wane

Esther Wane is a British actor and voice-over artist. After a career in finance, she fulfilled a childhood dream of going to drama school in London, and her life as an actor began at age forty. She has a lifelong passion for literature and can often be found browsing bookshops during any spare moments. Wane enjoys taking her listeners on a journeys in time and space and bringing the characters on the page to life in their imagination. She lives with her family and collection of books in Hertfordshire, just outside London.

About Sam Devereaux

Sam Devereaux is a third generation actor. Most of his childhood was spent tucked into the wings of West End theaters watching his dad perform or glued to the television exploits of his famous Australian grandfather. In addition to steady stage work, Sam has worked in voice-overs throughout his career. Starting off with dry corporate fare and progressing to the focused lunacy of his role as the title character in the hit adult cartoon Future Duck, Sam has developed into a flexible and highly focused voice-over actor. Audiobooks seemed the next logical step and Sam gets enormous pleasure from the intimacy of reading a story into a microphone. Whether it’s a weighty historical text or the sort of fantastical children’s book he reads every night to his kids, Sam just loves to tell a really good story.
