In this story children learn that we should never judge book by it's cover. Raff the giraffe sees a snake slithering away into the bushes one day. The snake appears to have left something behind and Raff decides to take a closer look. Raff discovers his friend, Abbit the rabbit's fur on the ground where the snake was and believes that the snake has eaten Abbit. He must race to warn his friends about the danger, but will he be in time or will the snake get Raff before he can warn his friends? This story introduces children to the concepts of shedding and molting in creatures and animals. It also teaches children they should not fear what they don't understand but should explore unknown things before forming an opinion. The Junglies stories are about the adventures of five jungle animals and their game warden friend. The Junglies stories all have a lesson for young readers to take to heart and also introduce children to the topic of endangered species as every animal represented by a character has at least one subspecies that is endangered, including rabbits!
