About Jennifer Mathieu

Jennifer Mathieu is the author of Devoted, Afterward, and The Truth About Alice, the winner of the Children’s Choice Book Awards’ Teen Choice Debut Author Award. She teaches high school English in Texas, where she lives in the Houston area with her husband and son.

About the Narrators

Elizabeth Morton is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and a graduate of the University of Evansville’s celebrated theater department. On stage, she has been directed by Mike Nichols, Fracaswell Hyman, Carrie Preston, and Joanne Woodward, among others. She has also narrated several audiobooks, including a novel by Paul Rudnick. She lives in New York City.

Ali Ahn is a film, television, and voice actor. Her acting credits include appearances on Law & Order, Ugly Betty, White Collar, and Zero Hour. She has also narrated numerous audio books, such as Honolulu by Alan Brennert, This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen, Persian Pickle Club by Sandra Dallas, and Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart.

Saskia Maarleveld is an experienced voice-over actress and Earphones Award–winning narrator. Raised in New Zealand and France, she is highly skilled with accents and dialects, and many of her books have been narrated entirely in accents other than her own. In addition to audiobooks, her voice can be heard in animation, video games, and commercials.

Michael Bakkensen is an actor who has appeared on many stages both on and off Broadway and has guest starred on several television shows. He earned an MFA in acting from the University of California–San Diego.

Emily Bauer is an award-winning voice-over actress who has read for dozens of popular audiobooks for children and adults, including Margery Williams’s Velveteen Rabbit, Meg Cabot’s Insatiable, and Ann Aguirre’s Enclave. Her film credits include Mona Lisa Smile and Long Distance. She has done voice-overs for Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Pokemon and has voiced scores of TV and radio commercials as well as cartoons, talking toys, and video games.
