The papers have called me a monster. You’ve either concluded that I am a braggart as well as a sadist or that I have a deep and driving need to be caught and punished. In the sweltering heat of an Atlanta summer, a killer is pushing the city to its breaking point, preying on the unsuspecting, writing taunting letters to the media, promising more death. Desperate to stop the Wishbone Killer before another victim meets a shattering end, A.P.D. lieutenant Aaron Rauser turns to the one person he knows can penetrate a deranged mind: ex–FBI profiler Keye Street. And you must certainly be wondering if I am, in fact, the stranger you seek. Keye was a rising young star at the Bureau until addiction derailed her career and her life. Now sober and fighting to stay so, Keye picks up jobs where she can get them: catching adulterers, serving subpoenas, chasing down bailjumpers, and dodging the occasional bullet. With multiple victims, little to go on, and an entire police force looking for direction, the last thing Keye wants is to be pulled into the firestorm of Atlanta’s worst nightmare. Shall I convince you? And then it suddenly becomes clear that the hunter has become the hunted—and the stranger she seeks is far closer than she ever dared imagine. An electrifying thriller debut, The Stranger You Seek introduces a brash, flawed, and unforgettable heroine in a complex, twisting novel that takes readers deep into a sultry Southern summer, a city in the grips of chaos, and a harrowing cat-and-mouse game no reader will ever forget.

"Astonishing! I loved the character of Keye Street, the protagonist. The plot was superb, the prose excellent, the dialogue catchy and realistic. There were wonderful twists and turns in the story development. When I looked for other books by Amanda Kyle Williams, I was both surprised and disappointed to find that this was her debut novel. I hope she writes her next book very quickly."

" A great beginning to a new mystery series! "
— Madeline, 2/17/2014" This book took time to get into. It was a bit wordy- too much description. Once you get past that and get acclimated to the author's style it grabs you. A good dark and dirty mystery not for the squeamish or prudish. I enjoyed the occasional side job and story mixed in to break up the drama and insert humor. This series debut has sucked me in and I am looking forward to the next. "
— Emily, 2/10/2014" This was an engaging thriller. The characters are so well defined you think you know them. AKW keeps you guessing even after you think you've pretty well figured everything out. ...but NO! She is my new favorite! "
— Susan, 2/8/2014" I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. The main character Keye Street is wonderful. I love her humor. I can't wait to read her next book. "
— Alisha, 2/5/2014" A very good thriller with several clever red herrings. If you live in the Atlanta area or know the area you will especially like this book as the locations and setting include Atlanta proper and even Avondale's "Southern Sweets" bakery near the Farmer's Market. This book is a mix of Janet Evonovitch and Kathy Trocheck but not as light in tone. It's good escapist fare. "
— Chris, 2/2/2014" Keye is and ex-FBI agent who is now a private investigator. Her company Keye is asked to come back to help on a serial killer investigation. She becomes involved at a personal and professional level. This thriller does not slow down but just keeps you reading. "
— Luanne, 1/28/2014" Borrowed this book from a coworker who won it off the Giveaway. Book was great. Kept the mystery of the killer/killers right up until the end. I could have done without all the descriptions put in there about the states. Definately worth reading. "
— Lesli, 1/18/2014" This mystery has it all -- an engaging narrative that pulls you in, a wry detective battling addiction one Krispy Kreme doughnut at a time, a fascinating serial killer, plot twists, complex friendships, and my hometown, Atlanta, as a setting. "
— Libby, 12/13/2013" so far really enjoying this one new author for me and two thumbs up so far!! just finished this one and really hope that she writes more. "
— Carola, 8/23/2013" loved keye, tough but fragile...can't wait for next one "

— Danette, 5/11/2013" Very exciting pyschological thriller/mystery with a gutsy female private eye. Good twist that didn't leave me feeling cheated. The clues were there. Liked the Atlanta setting too. I will definately read Amanda Kyle Williams again. "
— Kim, 4/5/2013" I really enjoyed this book. Serial killer tracked by criminal profiler might not be my favourite sort of crime novel, but the tension was maintained throughout, the characters were believable and the description of Southern cooking mouth-watering! "
— Kay, 12/1/2012" good characters, a little gruesome dealing with a serial killer but not too disturbing "
— Barb, 11/19/2012" Keye Street is wonderful....hope to see her in many more books! "
— Lou, 11/10/2012" Atlanta in-town residents will enjoy knowing exactly where things are happening, even if they are gory, and they are gory. "
— Karen, 6/23/2012" Except for all the violence I enjoyed this book as living in Atlanta I was able to identify with all the streets and landmarks referred to in the city. The ending was an excellent surprise and I will certainly read her next book. "
— Bill, 11/16/2011" The protagonist Keye Street is compelling, but the crimes she is investigating are explicit, grisly, and gratuitous. "
— Cathleen, 10/22/2011" Really enjoyed this. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series<br/> "
— Sam, 10/19/2011" Pretty engrossing despite being fairly predictable. "
