Publisher Description

Honor├® and Emily find themselves in a parallel timestream where their alternate selves think nothing of changing history to improve the quality of life—especially their own. Honor├® has been recently haunted by the death of his mother, an event which happened in his childhood, but now there seems to be a way to reverse that event … but at what cost? When faced with two of the most dangerous people they have ever encountered, Honor├® and Emily must make some decisions with far-reaching consequences.

Part mystery, part detective story, part dark fantasy, part science fiction, The Sideways Door is all original adventures in space and time.

About the Authors

R J Carter grew up in a household without television, forcing him into books for entertainment. By age eight he had read the works of Louisa May Alcott, A. A. Milne and H. G. Wells. In 1996, he began taking notes on an idea gleaned from a drawing of a book in a stack of books that didn’t exist in an issue of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comic. The notes lay dormant. They fermented. They germinated. And finally, much to his befuddlement, they had evolved into a story: Alice’s Journey Beyond the Moon. Carter has also written several short stories.

About Tracey Childs

Tracey Childs is best known for playing Lynne Howard in the popular eighties drama Howards’ Way, and Linda Cosgrove in the long running BBC series Born and Bred. She appeared as Metella in the fourth season of the relaunched Doctor Who series and has narrated several books in the science fiction and fantasy genres.
