“The Shadow on the Blind” is a classic gothic ghost story. An old, abandoned house, Harbledon Hall, is rented by the Stackpoole family. Mr. Stackpoole’s chief hobby is doing up old derelict country houses, including installing the latest fittings, such as electric lighting. Although they hear stories beforehand about Harbledon Hall being somehow haunted, the Stackpooles pay little attention to such rumors … after all, there is no such thing as a ghost.
