"I adored the Trixie Belden series and read all of them for years. I truly credit this series, along with a few others, with fostering my voracious love of reading, and also with sowing the seeds of love of the Adventure/Quest novel. Trixie is a spunky, smart heroine, and I really wanted to be her when I was a girl. Can't wait to share with my daughter one day."

" Tassy and I read this together. Oh what wholesome clean writing they did back in the fifties. :) I was disappointed that there wasn't more of a mystery, but it wasn't too bad. "
— Yvette, 2/9/2014" The first book of a series that I think had been overlooked. While I will admit that the language is a bit dated and the gender roles of some of the adult women are a bit rigid, Trixie, the character to which the reader would relate, clearly sees those boundaries as malleable and optional. I think for a more mature young girl who is a bit young for Nancy Drew, Trixie is a good starter series. She's a tomboy from a middle class family that hangs out with a socio-econmically mixed crowd who has faults and immature behaviors many young girls can see in themselves that she handles well. There is also a running theme of social responsibility and conciousness that I think is sorely lacking in much of youth literature presently. Certainly not literature for the ages, but it's still a lovely series. "
— Liz, 2/9/2014" I loved these books as a kid. So much better than silly, spoiled, prissy Nancy Drew. Trixie Belden was way cooler. "
— Lara, 2/7/2014" A very interesting book! It is perfect for people interested in mysteries. I like how Honey get's rid of her cowardness and turns into a brave girl. Really very interesting!!!! "
— Aadira, 2/7/2014" see above review "
— Amanda, 2/3/2014" Happy memories of reading this book as a child. "
— Cinhon, 1/31/2014" Not bad. Not sure whether I like it as much as Nancy Drew, and some of the storyline seemed a little cheesy. Seriously, the 15-year-old was just going to go off on his own and hope no one caught him? I'm assuming this was in a different time period.... But anyway, it was interesting. "
— Lexie, 1/13/2014" I was once a Trixie Beldon addict. Most definitely my favorite series when I was little. "
— Stephanie, 1/13/2014" This was a series I read as a tweener when I wasn't reading Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys. I liked Trixie and her friends and family. "
— Lisa, 12/30/2013" Loved them as a kid! Glad they're back! "
— Marsha, 12/25/2013" This represents all of the 23 Trixie Beldon books I read as a young girl. I was a Trixie Beldon fan from the start. I loved her books and fell in love with the characters. Brings back happy memories. "
— Petra, 12/25/2013" This is the series that made me a reader, thanks to my Mom who started reading these to me as a young child. "
— Krisha, 12/20/2013" I think the Trixie Belden books were even a little better than Nancy Drew! "
— Deborah, 12/16/2013" Read this series when I was younger-- one of my first introductions to a strong female protagonist. "
— Julie, 6/24/2013" The first of everything is always great......this one sure is!!!! "
— Chrisavye, 5/28/2013" Trixie Beldon was my favorite detective when I was a kid, and I read the whole series more than once ... this first book and the second that followed were the two best, and I still enjoyed them very much as I read them yesterday. Not completely believable, but lots of fun. "
— Joy, 12/4/2012" Loved these books as a kid, and my mom just gave them back to me. "
— Laura, 6/27/2012" I am so glad this is part of a series! I can't wait to read the next one!! "
— Elizabeth, 6/14/2012" I am not sure what type of rating to give this. For the intended age group, I think it is a lovely book. For me, it was ok. It was however more of an adventure story than a mystery. "
— Melinda, 4/14/2012" The books are soooo cool !!!!!! I love the series, and I just loved this book!! I want anyone to read it!! "
— Tiffany, 6/28/2011" Rereading some of those old favorites from when I was a kid. They're just as much fun now as they were then. "
— Lisa, 3/20/2011" I had read books before these however, Trixie Belden is what started me on the road to being an avid reader & book lover. I read every single one of these as a child. "

— Catherine, 12/27/2009" It is funny listening to books I loved reading as a girl. This book is more than 60 years old and I was excitd to see it thrilling Samantha like it did me when I was her age. I enjoyed listening to it - it made it almost like reading it for the first time again. "
— Anna, 10/15/2009" After I had read most of the Nancy Drew series (as a child), I discovered Trixie. She rocked. I can't wait to reread this childhood favorite. Done! Memories galore with this one. I now remember how refreshing it was to go from Nancy Drew (goody goody like me) to Trixie (attitude galore!). Cute book. "
— Trace, 6/27/2009" Ahhh...Trixie Belden! The anti-Nancy Drew! Nancy was boringly perfect: Trixie did bad in math, and had freckles and a few extra pounds. I looooved Trixie Belden books. Read one and you'll never go back to Nancy. "
— Pam, 3/5/2009" i love trixie belden books! they're soooo exciting! "
