"I've seen many movie adaptations of this book but never actually read the book! So I thought it was finally time. I'm glad I did read it because I really enjoyed it, though some might say this book is more for children. There are many themes & messages to be found in the book. Some of them being, the power of transforming your experiences by positive self-talk, adults being unintentionally be cruel to children, letting grief take over your life, & many other themes/messages. It's a very rich & well written book. I can see why it's become a classic. One thing I can comment on, I felt the book ended a bit abruptly. There was a movie adaptation that showed Colin, Mary & Dikon as young adults & it was nice to see them grown up, still friends & still enjoying the secret garden."
