About the Authors
Robert Anson Heinlein (1907–1988) was born in Missouri. He served five years in the US Navy and then attended graduate classes in mathematics and physics at UCLA. After a variety of jobs, he began to write science fiction in 1939. He is a four-time winner of the Hugo Award and a recipient of three Retro Hugos, and in 1975 he was named the first recipient of the Grand Master Award for lifetime achievement. Several of his books were New York Times bestsellers, and his worldwide bestsellers have been translated into twenty-two languages.

Arthur C. Clarke is considered one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time. He is best known for his novel 2001: A Space Odyssey, for which he also coauthored the screenplay with Stanley Kubrick for the 1968 Academy Award–winning major motion picture. Besides winning a number of Hugo and Nebula awards, he was awarded the Kalinga Prize, a UNESCO award for popularizing science. He was knighted by the British monarchy and is the only science fiction writer to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. He is an international treasure in many other ways: An article written by him in 1945 led to the invention of satellite technology. His books of both fiction and nonfiction have more than one hundred million copies in print worldwide.
About the Narrators
James Langton, an Earphones Award–winning narrator, trained as an actor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and later as a musician at the Guildhall School in London. He has worked in radio, film, and television, also appearing in theater in England and on Broadway. He is also a professional musician who led the internationally renowned Pasadena Roof Orchestra from 1996 to 2002.
Oliver Wyman is an actor and award-winning audiobook narrator. He has won five Audie Awards from the Audio Publisher’s Association, fourteen Earphone Awards, and two Listen Up Awards from Publisher’s Weekly. L. J. Ganser is a multiple Audie Award–winning narrator with over six hundred titles recorded to date. Richard Ferrone recorded over 150 audiobooks including thrillers, romances, science fiction, and inspirational novels. Pete Larkin has narrated dozens of audiobook titles, won five Earphones Awards, and been a finalist in 2012 for the prestigious Audie Award for best narration. He has been praised for his expert
ability to speak in multiple accents. He is also an on-camera host and accomplished voice-over artist for hundreds of commercials and promos for a variety of companies, corporations, and governmental agencies. He was the public address announcer for the New York Mets and has worked as a radio jockey in New York, Baltimore, and Washington, DC.
Graham Halstead, an Earphones Award and Audie Award–winning narrator, is a professionally trained actor and voice artist. As an actor, he has worked internationally in Edinburgh and London, as well as at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
