Publisher Description

My name is Amelia Gray. I am the Graveyard Queen, a cemetery restorer who sees ghosts. My father passed down four rules to keep me safe, and I've broken every last one. A door has opened and evil wants me back.

In order to protect myself, I've vowed to return to those rules. But the ghost of a murdered cop needs my help to find his killer. The clues lead me to the dark side of Charleston - where witchcraft, root doctors and black magic still flourish - and back to John Devlin, a haunted police detective I should only love from afar.

Now I'm faced with a terrible choice: follow the rules or follow my heart.

"In "The Prophet", the third book in the Graveyard Queen Series, Amelia Gray, the cemetery restorer who sees ghosts, returns to Charleston after the disturbing events that took place in the previous book "The Kingdom". The haunted police detective John Devlin is also back in this installment. Devlin is still, unbeknownst to him, haunted by the ghosts of his wife Mariama and his daughter Shani who were killed in a car accident and now, Shani is beginning to appear and communicate more and more with Amelia. There is still an attraction between Amelia and Devlin but she knows that they can't have a relationship until Devlin acknowledges his ghosts and is able to move on. The ghost of murdered police officer Robert Fremont, who was introduced in the first book "The Restorer", is back and he wants Amelia to find out who killed him. He has vague memories of the night he was murdered but needs Amelia's help to piece things together. We are also introduced to the mysterious Darius Goodwine, cousin to Devlin's late wife Mariama. Darius plagues Amelia throughout the book as he learns more about her. "The Prophet" feels more like a mystery, albeit with supernatural elements, than the first two books of the series. It isn't as creepy as the first two but there are some scenes that made my skin crawl. By the end much is revealed including the events leading up to Robert Fremont's murder. There is also some very interesting background information about Mariama. "The Prophet" is another very good entry in the fantastic Graveyard Queen Series. It has elements of mystery, paranormal, and romance that work wonderfully together. The writing is descriptive and, at times, chilling. I will definitely reread this series."

" I think I have a new favorite author! I loved this series so much! Whether it came into my life when I really needed an escape or what, it does not matter. Amanda Stevens has such a way of pulling you into the story to where I was longing for the main character's love as much as she was. Suspenseful and engaging until the very end, I cannot recommend this series enough! "

" I've come to the end of this book ghasping as I did want to finish the trilogy. I have to agree with other reviews that said there was way to much redundant information, and I was sick of 'papa's rules'. "
