"Brian Haig remains one the the most humerous suspense writers out there. In this book, Major Sean Drmmond, on loan from the Army JAG Corps to the CIA is loaned out to the FBI in an attempt to catch a group of vicious murderers who claim they will kill the president within 48 hours. This announcement comes when it is discovered the the White House Chief of Staff, his wife, and their selective service body guards are all found brutally murdered. Thus begins the wild ride of trying to stop these criminals as they continue to mow down the Washington elite, with obvious insider help. My husband thinks this is Haig's best, I just didn't think the ending was entirely believable. But this is still a book you can't put down."

" I didn't know Brian Haig was the son of former Secretary of State Alexander Haig. Anyway, I loved this book. It has got to be fun to write for th main character, Drummond. I love reading all his wisecracks. The book never slows down and truely keeps the pages turning. One plot twist in the end kept me form giving it 5 stars. Very enjoyable and fast read. "
— Tstultz69, 2/20/2014" The scenario here is a bit over the top, but Haig certainly manages to pull it off in a manner that makes it well worth the effort. "
— Dolphe, 2/15/2014" Excellent. Just a brilliant piece of fiction. Well written, fast paced, and with an ending that leaves you shocked and craving more. "

— Charles, 1/22/2014" I don't know what it is about this guy's writing, but I can sit down and can't quit reading. I like the way he thinks. I like the way he writes and he's just a bit twisted, which I can respect and appreciate. I loved it. "
— L.W., 1/14/2014" thrilling, twists and turns, sardonic humor. definitely readable. "
— Michele, 1/3/2014" This was a fun romp through government incompetence and intrigue. Fast paced and keeps you guessing. "
— David, 12/31/2013" I really enjoyed this book despite the fact that the main character is a derivative of Demille's John Corey. This book captures you right at the hook and does not let go until its fulfilling conclusion. The twist is really great! "
— Michael, 12/19/2013" Another very interesting thriller but he uses too many f-words. "
— Opa, 12/16/2013" A fast paced thriller with the main character, Major Sean Drummond a witty, wisecracking military lawyer. Also gives a very accurate portrayal of the inner workings of the US military.A very good and entertaining read. "
— Colinus, 12/11/2013" I would have liked this book more if I had not read the 6th book first. I immediately knew who the killer was when something happened and wondered how Sean did not pick up on it sooner. It also makes me think he should have solved the case a lot faster in the 6th book. "
— Royce, 12/9/2013" Intelligent, absorbing, great dialogue. "
— Sue, 12/8/2013" An exciting thriller about a bounty being put out on the president's life. The countdown involves numerous murders of high-ranking officials. It's packed with twists and turns and tons of action! "

— John, 12/3/2013" what a plot twist at the end! "
— Novara, 7/5/2013" As murder/spy mysteries go, this one was one of the best I had read in a long time. All the characters are both greedy/despicable and sympathetic. You meet good guys who fataly flawed and bad guys with a conscience. Well written and a great, fast read. "
— Drick, 5/19/2013" I liked the writing style of this author. It's the first book by this author that I've read and I'll definitely pick up another one. He's very sarcastic and I like it =) The only thing I don't like is the fact that I figured out the ending beforehand. But it was still a good read! "
— Amy, 3/15/2013" I love a good CIA/International intrigue kind of book - and this is one of them! Interestingly, the author is the son of Alexander Haig! Makes you wonder if he had any inside info. This is the first of his books I've read, but I will look for others. Nice twist at the end. "
— Lynn, 10/22/2012" My first book by Brian Haig! I think I'm going to be a fan. But does Sean Drummond remind anyone else of DeMille's Paul Brenner? They're the same character! "
— Kathy, 9/13/2012" Liked it much more than the last one I read by him. "
— Bronwyn, 3/3/2012" Brian Haig is one of my favorite authors and again he didn't let me down. His character, Sean Drummond, is great with a sense of humor that appeals to me. "
