Publisher Description

In the fishing community of Fjällbacka, life is remote, peaceful - and for some, tragically short. Foul play was always suspected in the disappearance 20 years ago of two young holidaymakers in the area. Now a young boy out playing has confirmed this grim truth. Their remains, discovered with those of a fresh victim, send the town into shock. Local detective Patrik Hedstrom, expecting a baby with his girlfriend Erica, can only imagine what it is like to lose a child. When a second young girl goes missing, Hedstrom's attention focuses on the Hults, a feuding clan of misfits, religious fanatics and criminals. The suspect list is long but time is short - which of this family's dark secrets will provide the vital clue?

"This was a good mystery! It was especially fun because it took place in Sweden (the author is Swedish so this was translated) so the names of cities and places were quite fun to listen to, along with peoples names and their pronunciations. I'm pretty sure I could not have come close to doing them justice if I'd been reading the book rather than listening to it."

" Excellent book. Well written and complete with lots of confusing data to keep you on your toes. Loved the scientific aspect of the DNA testing as it relates to bone marrow transplants. Better even than the Ice Princess. "

" Pretty interesting Swedish crime novel with a good plot. It was easy reading and kept my interest - great for vacation days! I still feel that something is just "lost in translation" when books like this are translated from their original language, but take it for what it is and enjoy! "

" The storyline was very interesting although I did have a bit of trouble keeping track of who was who in the Hult family and how they were related to one another. Probably an aged brain thing. Never-the-less, I recommend it highly. "

" I didn't like this book nearly as much as I liked Camilla's first book...The Ice Princess. It was entertaining but it just didn't have the same appeal. I'm not sure I feel an urge to try the third book...maybe if I get really desperate for a Scandanavian crime book. "
