“Donald Cubbin has been a successful and notorious union boss for decades, but, faced with a formidable (and dirty) rival, he may find this latest election to be his last…Set against a backdrop of corruption, this gritty tale of labor and power unfolds through the actions of a number of interconnected players. As with any good satire, heroes are hard to find, but characters abound. Holsopple captures each one with uniqueness, avoiding undue sentimentality while allowing the shifts in power and motives to unfold naturally. As the story spans decades and crisscrosses the US, Holsopple remains present and anchored.”
