"There are other audio renditions of this book, but this is the best, and probably the best performance of any of the many audio books I have experienced.
The book itself is of great literary significance, being the first of the English country house mystery genre. The story is wonderful, with many a twist. It is rather long for this genre, but I assume that is because it was originally serialized Harper's Weekly and All The Year Round, and the magazines were perfectly happy to have a longer story by a popular author so as to sell more magazines! But this audio book will hold your attention all the way through to the end. "

About Wilkie Collins
Wilkie Collins (1824–1889) was an English novelist. He studied law and was admitted to the bar but never practiced. Instead, he devoted his time to writing and is best known for his novels The Woman in White, No Name, Armadale, and The Moonstone, which has been called the finest detective story ever written. A number of his works were collaborations with his close friend, Charles Dickens. The Woman in White so gripped the imagination of the world that Wilkie Collins had his own tombstone inscribed: “Author of The Woman in White.”
