When Anthony Walker bought five brass monsters at Morley Manor, he didn't suspect that they were real - or that thawing them out of their frozen sleep would pull him and his sister, Sarah, into a galaxy spanning adventure. But soon those two brave kids have to deal with monsters, aliens, giant frogs, a tragic angel- and an eerie trip to the land of the dead. Yet for all its madcap weirdness - for all its laughs and spooky thrills - at its heart Morley Manor is about the bonds that hold us together as families.

""The Monsters of Morley Manor", by Bruce Coville is an interesting book. I chose this book because of the fact we ran out of time in the library and i needed to choose a book. This story is about a boy, Anthony and his sister Sarah regular kids who happen to go to a yard sale. The boy stumbles across a small box and decides to buy it. When he gets home he realizes the box is very hard to open. When he finally gets it open he finds toys inside, which when he later gets water on one they come to life. The boy and his sister must now go on a adventure to save earth from aliens who are trying to take it over. My favorite quote was when Anthony was first talking about when the water was added to the toys. He said, "I picked up the figurine and stared at it. To my horror, its fingers began to move." I like this quote because it explains how shocked Anthony was when he realized these were not just regular figures. The author wrote this story as a first person point of view from the main protagonist, Anthony. I like the authors writing style a lot and think he is very entertaining. I loved the plot of this book and it was an outstandingly fun book to read. I would recommend this book to anyone just looking for a easy, entertaining story. I love these types of books personally and find them very enjoyable. Great book, 4 out of 5 stars!" — Collin (4 out of 5 stars)

" Really, really weird, but in a compelling way. Which made the book seem even more strange. "
" This is one the craziest books I ever read. Here is some of the events going through the starry door, being chased, transformation, being brought to live. I know it is crazy but that is not all two kids have only till morning to go on a quest of a lifetime. You just have to read the book there is no way to sum it up. "
" Ryan and I listened to this - great performance by Full Cast Audio - and it was a really cool story. "
" this book was one of those books that you read if you're just looking for something fun. "
" I read this one when I was younger too and loved it. But now it seems a little strange. That is the kind of book it is though... "
" Bruce Cobille is a very clever writter. This book is about little statues that come to life when water was put on them. It is a very well thought out book. "
" Fun read for middle grades. Monsters, aliens, and family. "
" This is one of my favourite books ever. I've re-read it so many times that I have lost track. It's funny, imaginative, but also has good messages in it. "
" fun, twisted tale. "
" Cute book. Not just a haunted mansion story. "
" Meh. I got tired of this book about halfway through and had to stop listening. It is a children/young adult book, and I knew that going into it...and I liked the story enough. I just got tired of it. I think the author lost me when he had the characters go to the land of the dead. "
" I read this book in second grade, and I remember loving the plot, characters, and adventure! "
" I read this twice because I loved it so much. I haven't read it in years but I would definitely recommend this book! "
" This book is not something you will here me going around raving about. The truth is that the book was a little odd with all the monsters and ghost type things. What I did like about it was that it did give great details so that I could practically see what the alien (monster) looked like. "
" I'm rating this book based on how much I loved it when I read it about five, six years ago. I could recite (and still can) the first page on the book because I found it pure genius. I drove my friends mad with it. "
" Such a fun read! You can tell the author had a lot of fun writing this book, and that the story was very well planned out. I loved the characters, I loved the odd story, and I really loved the book. Excellent read for just an odd sort of day. :) "
" Fun, not sure when I first read it, but I skimmed it again-skipping lots and reading some of the plot points I forgot-recently. It's a good book. "
" it was great but strange. "
" An unusual book, with action and comedy. "
" The suspense and scary parts in this story wil kill ya! this book by bruce coville is incredible. this book contains funny parts, action, friendship and the life of sibling hood!!! almost anyone can read this above 7 that is!! "
" this book was mad mad FUN. it has everything in it. "
" OH MY GOD. I loved this book! My first-ever taste of Science Fiction/horror and it just made my mouth gape wide open. It also had a really cool cover. My favorite Monster was Gaspard. And I loved Anthony, too. "
" I really liked the beginning, but it got a little convoluted as the story went on. Aliens, angels, the land of the dead, it got to be too much for me, but my daughter (9) really liked it. We actually listed to the audiobook. "
" I have never read a single thing by Bruce Coville that I didn't love. The end. "
