On the eve of her wedding in 1978, Shay Garrett peers into the antique mirror in her family's longtime home, the famous Victorian Gingerbread House on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado and falls unconscious only to wake in the body of her own grandmother Brandy on the eve of her wedding in 1900. The virginal Brandy, in turn, awakes in Shay's body in 1978 to discover herself pregnant. What follows is a fascinating look at how two women - and their families - cope with this strange and even humorous situation. A classic tale of two women lost in time...

"I found this book in a little shop in Nederland, CO while visiting my Boulder son and daughter-in-law. Though not a frequent time travel reader, knowing about the area made this an entertaining read......and a great souvenier of my time out in Colorado. Great little bookstore/coffee shop with a resident cat and local arts and crafts, as well as good coffee....brought some of their own roasted coffee home as well."

— Colleen, 12/5/2013" This book got me addicted to TIMETRAVEL books! Was there more than 2 or 3 in the early '80's???! I LOVE this experience! I own two retired library hardcover copies. 1 for my collection. 1 to loan out to others. "
— Lea, 10/29/2013" Very good story about 2 women who look into a mirror then trade places. Only 1 woman goes from 1970s back to 1900s while the other woman goes from 1900s to 1970s. It tales how they cope being each in each other bodies but still have the same mind as themself. "
— Midge, 10/14/2013" Love this book. Best seller back in the early 80's (I think). Young girl looks in the mirror and is transported back to live her Grandmother's life, back in the prairie days. "

— Linda, 11/9/2012" Good, but long. End kind of fizzled out. "
— Amy, 9/25/2012" I am always looking for a good time travel story. The Mirror is a very unique story of two women lost in a time that is not their own. If you are looking for a good time travel story that is truly unique I recommend picking this one up. "
— Jeff, 3/12/2012" Really loved this book. The attention to detail, mood & storyline were terrific. When I finished reading it, I started all over again to get a different perspective on what the heroine was going through now that I knew the outcome. This is one I will reread every so often. "
— Drusilla, 1/23/2012" One of my FAVORITE favorites! I read this book over and over as a young teenager, back in the 70s. Simply could not get enough of the romance, the historical bits about the old west in the Denver area... "
