About Jann S. Wenner
Jann S. Wenner was born in New York City and raised in San Francisco and Marin County. He founded Rolling Stone in 1967. Over the ensuing decades, Rolling Stone won many awards for its design, photography, public service, and journalism and was instrumental in launching the careers of many groundbreaking journalists and photographers. He is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the youngest inductee ever in the American Society of Magazine Editor’s Hall of Fame.

Pete Townshend is a book editor and author. He is the lead guitarist and principal songwriter of The Who, one of the most influential rock bands of the twentieth century, and the composer of the rock operas Tommy and Quadrophenia. Although known for his musical compositions and musicianship, he has been extensively involved in the literary world for more than three decades, writing newspaper and magazine articles, book reviews, essays, scripts, a memoir, and a novel.
Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and humanitarian. He is best known for his work with his E Street Band. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the New Jersey Hall of Fame. He is the recipient of twenty Grammy Awards, the Academy Award, and the Kennedy Center Honors.
John Lennon (1940–1980)
was born in Liverpool, England. A singer, songwriter, and musician, he was one
of the cofounders of The Beatles, one of the most successful bands in music
history. In 1969, Lennon left the Beatles and began a recording partnership
with his wife, Yoko Ono. The title track of his album Imagine was eventually named the third all-time best song by Rolling Stone.
