Determined. He's ready to take the world by storm. But Henry's dream is about to turn into a nightmare . . .

On his first assignment, a man ends up dead, and Henry finds himself on the run and accused of murder. On his trail is a dogged cop who wants to see Henry behind bars, and a ruthless, demented assassin who wants to see Henry dead. Henry's only hope of survival is a woman he barely knows, as they embark on a cross-country flight barely one step ahead of disaster. "The Mark started off a little bit slowly, but once it took off it didn't let up! The story itself is cliche--mobsters, dirty cops, innocent guy in the wrong place at the wrong time, pretty girl who sees him for who he truly is and aids and abets him... We've all seen this story a billion times in theaters or on TV. But I don't care that this story is cliche! The Mark was exciting, blood-pounding, adrenaline-rush reading! The main characters were all sympathetic. I had a really hard time putting The Mark down, and I couldn't wait for my afternoon bus ride home so I could lose myself in the story again! This was fun reading!"

" Jason Pinter's debut thriller is a winner, a suspenseful page-turner starring Henry Parker, an engaging, ambitious young reporter in NYC who finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. He suddenly finds himself the prime suspect in a murder, and is on the run, pursued by the NYPD, two FBI agents, and an assassin employed by the mob. I had already enjoyed two of this author's later books in the same series, The Fury and The Darkness, which are even better, but I'd advise starting with this one, then going on to the second book, The Guilty, then The Stolen. " Whoa... I'm sorry to say that this is a sub-par attempt at your typicaly, run-of-the-mill suspense/thriller. The problem? Lots of foreshadowing (too much) and angst without (I feel) enough payoff! I kept find myself getting distracted and being pulled away from reading... Not a good sign for a suspense/thriller. "

" Great, fast thrill read. This books starts off with a bang and keeps you running from there. This is a first novel for Jason Pinter, but I suspect that he will soon be up there with the ranks of David Baldacci, Vince Flynn and Robert Ludlum for edge of your seat thrill rides. "
