“Trying to escape, were you?”

Tassie bit her lip. Why hadn’t he turned her over to the constables? She certainly wasn’t going to try to run past him, even if he did have a limp. She was tall, but this man towered over her—six feet of hardened muscle, shoulders forbiddingly broad beneath his riding coat, strong booted legs set firmly apart. Major Marcus Forrester. All ready for action.

And Tassie couldn’t help but remember his kiss.

About the Author

Lucy Ashford studied English at Nottingham University and was supposed to immerse herself in Anglo-Saxon, linguistics, the lot—but she was always drawn to novels, especially historical novels. After earning her degree, Lucy worked in the public library, where she became a “wannabe” author, eventually being taken on by a London agent and getting that first contract. Lucy has written longer historical novels (thrillers) under her real name, Elizabeth Redfern, but has also fulfilled a dream by writing romances. She has lived in London and various other parts of the United Kingdom with her long-suffering husband, a retired solicitor. They now live in the Peak District, near to Bakewell and beautiful Chatsworth House, in an old stone cottage with roses around the front door. She loves gardening and walking in the hills, dreaming up her next story.

About the Narrator
