Publisher Description

Caithleen and Baba, first encountered in The Country Girls, are now living in Dublin, where they discuss men, drink gin, and try to look fast. Cait, in the pursuit of true love, becomes involved with the fanatically domineering Eugene Gaillard. Painful disillusion and occasional moments of bliss in her life make this a bittersweet tale, and it is told with all the perception and wit that is the hallmark of Edna O'Brien.

"What a really nicely written book and perfect for the one who is a "lonely girl." Really great for a fall read. "

" This ws not so much a novel, or novella, as a very long short story. It was okay but not much more. Not very funny and not much new in her dilemna of being hung up on the wrong man. "

" Well - the next installment in Caithleen's life in Dublin. Another Mr. Gentleman. I feel for her, I have known that guy. I am going to juxtapose this read with Are you Somebody for another perspective. "
