Journalist Max and his new friend, Said, sit together under an ancient olive tree while Said makes another of his kites. As Max is welcomed as a guest in Said's family home, he learns of the terrible events in the family's past - but nothing prepares him for the true importance of Said's kites.

Told from both Max and Said's points of view, this beautiful tale of tragedy and hope rings with joy. With an afterword by Jeremy Bowen.
