Publisher Description

Joe Flood is a hit man, but he has his principles: he only accepts contracts on people who deserve to be killed. And Joe has always accepted his lot: Leading a double life is just one of the costs of doing business. Now his doctor has told him he has only a few months to live and Joe figures for once he'd like to call the shots himself. Literally that is: he puts out an open contract on his own life, with a six-million dollar reward. All his finest competitors take up the challenge. But the next news he gets is bad: The lab has made an error and Joe is in perfect health. As any good hit man knows, there's no way to call off a contest like this one. In a dark comedy of deadly errors, Joe and his stalkers set out on a breakneck, kill-or-be-killed romp that bristles with suspense.

"Having loved I Hunt Killers, I couldn't wait to read this sequel in which Jasper (Jazz) Dent continues to battle the demons left behind in his head by his serial killer father, Billy. I was not disappointed as Jazz continues to struggle with his baser urges while also being compelled to use his first-hand knowledge of serial killers to help the NYPD and FBI try to solve a series of gruesome murders. The stakes seem even higher than they were in the last book, and Jazz's girlfriend Connie and best friend Howie are in just as much peril as Jazz is as the book comes to a close. I have no idea how I will be able to bear waiting until the next book puts me out of my misery. While the crime scenes and murders are horrific, what is particularly fascinating about this book is the author's ability to get inside the mind of a serial killer and the fact that the game being played out seems to have been in the works for a long time. As Jazz continues to be plagued by nightmares that seem to mix desire and violence, he tries to keep Connie safe while she is just as determined to help him solve the mysteries in his life. There are so many sides and perspectives being offered throughout this thriller that readers are liable to feel as though they've just stumbled off a high-speed roller coaster when they finish the book. I guarantee no one reading this book will regard a Monopoly board in quite the same way again--or forget that there are multiple meanings to the word "game," after all. I couldn't help remembering my freshman English teacher's assigning the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" to my class many years ago, and my shock at realizing that the game being hunted happened to be humans."

" OMG, I couldn't put down this 2nd installment from Barry Lyga's I Hunt Killers. Jasper and Connie go to New York where murders are taking place and they are mimicking some of Billy Dent's and since he has escaped, Jasper is hoping to catch the killers and his father. But what he doesn't ever suspect is that there seem to be a few killers at work; each taking their instructions via throw away cell phones. When they are both sent home; Connie is forbidden to ever leave town and Jasper is now getting to know his aunt who came to take care of Jasper's grandmother while Jasper was in NY. When Jasper returns to NY; Connie is contacted by text and begins to sort out clues about Jasper's dad. When he finds out alarming information about Jaser's father; she returns to NY without her parents' permission. Things spiral out of control and the ending is crazy and I can't wait til the next book comes out; it is so not fair to have to wait to find out what happens. Read it and you WILL agree with me!!! The same sickening mind games; just when Jasper thinks he has it figured out-----he so doesn't! "

" Unlikely investigators on high school break: a young girl, a hemophiliac and a serial killers son. Chase down to New York to aid police in capturing a serial killer. Crime novel for YA's! Left very open at the end for another installment in the series. "
