"I picked this novel at random from the shelf of new fiction at the library because it looked like a good, soapy read, and I was not disappointed. It felt a bit like reading a very stylish soap opera. I will definitely check out some of this author's other work. "

" 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book. Grace is written well, and her story is enjoyable. The reason that I give it only 3.5 stars, is that I didn't think the narrative gave sufficient evidence to the ending. "

" Started off really well with a very interesting premise and a clever protagonist, but then descended into stupidity. The historical aspects of the book made it less realistic, not more. "

" An OK read about Grace Rutherford who lives the life of a flapper in London in the 20s. When she's not searching for fun and love, she's a working girl for an advertising agency and also writes a newspaper column under a pseudonym... "

" Loved the setting - London in the 1920's (I'm a sucker for both)... I just couldn't decide throughout this novel if the main character was likable or not... sometimes she was, sometimes not. The best parts for me were the flashback parts and the column entries. All in all a good beach read. "

" Not awful, not great. I got confused with some of the characters and it took me a long time to finish this-I didn't have much interest in it I guess. A shame. It had the makings of a good story but it fell flat. "

" In all honesty I wish I could give this book a 3.5. It is an excellent book, great style and word choice, but it was just not my cup of tea. If you enjoy a book with a witty heroine and love affairs with some suspense, Anna Davis is the gal for you. Enjoy! "

" I enjoyed the historical setting for this novel. It was set in the 1920s. Diamond Sharp's column at the beginning of each chapter was also a treat. Other than that, the rest of the novel is uninspired and cliched. "
