To address their general malaise, four privileged L.A. housewives each make a pact to have a year long extramarital affair. Each others' husbands are declared off-limits and the friends agree to confide only in each other (the theory being that dalliances cause trouble in large part because word gets out). And so the ladies embark—two eagerly, one cautiously, and one very reluctantly—on perilous romantic paths that lead to all manner of adventure and intrigue. As the year progresses, secrets are revealed, betrayals pile up, desires are brought to light, lies are told, and each woman is forced to face up to the truth of who she is and the choices that have brought her here. When the women discover that a local gossip has been spying on their conversations and is threatening to reveal their secrets to the whole town, how far will they go to stop him? And how well do these friends really know each other anyway?

"I just started this one so I can't say much about it. so far it is reading very smart, not a simple chick lit book that's for sure."
— Marie (4 out of 5 stars)
“For the ultimate guilty pleasure, indulge in this dishy page turner.”
— Redbook“The Infidelity Pact reads like Desperate Housewives on steroids and will keep you hooked until the end.”
— BookReporter.com" Eh... it was decent... quick read... lacked substance... I like chick-lit books but ones that have some message or depth to them... "
— JLDzerens, 2/16/2014" Not worth reading. I couldn't decide whether to give it one star or two. "
— J, 2/14/2014" Cheese. I'm ready to read a really great book that I can put down. Suggestions welcome! It doesn't have to be a masterpiece. Just fun to read from beginning to end!!! "
— Mikala, 1/28/2014" So I started this thinking it would an interesting read, but I didn't finish it. The truth is that three of the four women had good husbands and they just couldn't find it in themselves to be satisfied and try to make it work with them. One was so worried about screwing things up that she didn't try; another was too selfish to see that she had the makings for happily-ever-after in her grasp if she could just see outside herself for a moment; and another just had no good excuse. Victoria was the only one who had legitimate reasons for wanting to step out on her husband and she should have just divorced him instead of trying to get even. About three-quarters of the way through the book I couldn't see how things were going to end nicely for any of them and just wanted to stop the drama. So I did. Sorry, Carrie...next time don't make your heroines such idiots. "
— Me, 1/19/2014" I thought this would be an interesting concept. It ended up a pretty easy/good read, liked the twist at the end also. Great read for summer time. "
— Lori, 12/26/2013" I enjoyed reading this book but, but I thought it was alittle predictable and the characters a little flat. "
— Brandy, 12/20/2013" This was a pretty entertaining book, in a fast read kind of way. I don't usually read books like this but I wanted something that was just a mindless fun read for a change. "
— Jenifer, 10/31/2013" This would make a great movie!! "
— Ellen, 9/23/2013" It was really pretty good. By the same author as "The Right Address", it was a (small) step above the usual. The inprobable, but highly entertaining, plot also concerned a bit of a murder mystery. What I liked best was the references to life in wealthy L.A. "
— Margarita, 8/23/2013" Overall an interesting plot - 4 friends decide to embark on an "infidelity pact" for a year to spice up their lives. Well written but the plot was easy to figure out which for me made it easy to skim several pages. Slight twist at the very end but not too surprising. "
— Meranda, 4/23/2013" Too many characters to keep straight...but had a pretty good ending. "
— Buffy, 3/29/2013" There was a lot of feeling sorry for oneself in this book. But since I wasn't expecting any more, it was fine. "
— Missyk, 3/26/2013" Better than I thought it would be. Nice mind mush. "
— Christina, 3/23/2013" Chic lit about women who make a pact to cheat on their husbands (no, this is not a spoiler!), but everything works out OK in the end. Very few redeeming qualities, although it meant to be a hard-hitting critique of the hollywood lifestyle. Still, I enjoyed it. "
— Hilary, 3/1/2013" Victoria was a creep. It was weird who killed Anson. It was interesting enough though that I kept reading til the end. "
— Sarah, 1/23/2013" I read this book during finals and I have to say that my Econ text book was much more interesting. The ending saved it from being a total waste of paper, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone ever. "
— Jhenn, 12/13/2012" Stock characters, blah story. Not worth your time. "
— Whitney, 12/11/2012" I liked this book because it was an easy read with some slightly surprising happenings that wrap up the story. It starts slow and the characters include all the obligatory L.A. types, but it's great fluffy fun overall. And though it's a book about cheating, there isn't much focus on sex. "
— Sarah, 10/24/2012" This book was ok. I had a really hard time getting into it. I don't know if it was because the books I had read before were just really good and would be hard to fallow, or if it just wasn't that good "
— Jessica, 10/22/2012" Perhaps it was the format and because I was listening during my daily commute but I found it somewhat hard to follow all the characters and remember which wife and which husband and which lover belonged where. "
— Sarra, 7/27/2012" not painful, but not worth reading "
— Molly, 6/26/2012" Great vacation reading on the plane. It just didn't get more stars because it was super fluffy. "
— Vanessa, 4/9/2012" I finished this if anyone hasn't bought it yet and would like to borrow it. "
— Michelle, 3/7/2012" A fun juicy read, but not particularly well written. "
— Stefany, 12/5/2011" Smut, fun and quick read, for the ladies "
— Lauren, 8/27/2011" four women who make a pact to cheat on their husbands: definitely not a primer for the optimist in relationships. but surprisingly snappy and interesting ending. more like 3.5 stars. good light read. "
— Tuyet, 8/24/2011" Kind of slow during parts and other times I couldn't put it down! It does make u think about your life a little and I kind of enjoyed how it all turned out! "
— Margaux, 8/11/2011" Perhaps it was the format and because I was listening during my daily commute but I found it somewhat hard to follow all the characters and remember which wife and which husband and which lover belonged where. "
