Publisher Description

Published posthumously in the Premier Magazine in 1929, "The Haunted Jarvee" is one of the final three stories featuring Carnacki the Ghost Finder.

In need of an escape, supernatural detective Thomas Carnacki boards the Jarvee, an antique sailing ship owned by his old friend Captain Thompson. But revitalization isn't Carnacki's only motive. The captain has for some time been complaining that ghosts haunt his ship. Finding nothing physical to explain the haunting, Carnacki is left to wait. His wait is soon over, however, as savage storms begin plaguing the ship at night, each preceded by strange shadows in the water racing toward the ship. It is left to Carnacki to solve the mystery and save the crew from foundering.
