" This book surprised me. I enjoyed it allot. This was the first M.J. Rose book I have read and I will read more. Great mystery, great characters. "

" On edge the whole time wanting to know what will happen next. I would love to see this become a movie! "
-

Elaine | 1/25/2014
" I only finished reading this book because I had nothing else on my shelf, i would not recommend, slow moving and I could not warm up to any of the characters "

" A fast thriller, this wasn't edge of yours seat kind of stuff but it was still a fun read. A sex Therapist working with prostitutes makes some dangerous decisions that make you want to yell like you would at the characters in an 80's horror flick. Don't go in there! "

" I really liked the psychology behind this book. The characters were well-done (almost too much character definition on Morgan and her nose). The sex (therapist, prostitution, etc.) aspect of it wasn't overused or uncomfortable. The one scene between Morgan and Noah was hot! "

" I wanted to like this book but I just could not get through it! I tried more than once. I am sure many people would like it but I am not one of them. Perhaps I just didn't like the setting. "

" An entertaining thriller; rather easy plot to figure out but nevertheless fun to read. "
-

Terry | 11/30/2012
" I read about 30%. Not my kind of book. This time instead of suffering through a book I'm not enjoying, I choose to stop. Yeah for me. "
-

Jim Henderson | 10/5/2012
" Well... I'm not sure. I held on until the end, but it never really got hold of me. I'm still not sure quite why... "
-

Melissa | 6/20/2012
" A good fluffy read with sex, sex, sex. "
-

" It was a decent, if predictable, story. A little too wordy and slow moving in some chapters which made me put the book down for a while. "
-

Fareeha | 5/13/2012
" What a waste of time. Has a lot of info regarding the heroine which is useless rather has forcefully tried to give character to characters but unsuccessfully. "
-

Vickie | 2/13/2012
" YUCK! sex scenes disguised as a medical mystery. I knew whodunnit immediately upon intro to the character. "
-

Janese Jackson | 9/16/2011
" I loved the author's writing style, she's very descriptive and not too repetitive. I found the character of Morgan Snow very likable and relatable... I bought the next two books in the series as soon as I finished this one. "

" This started out a little slow, but by the time I wasaround halfway through, I could't put it down. Lots of suspense and a plot twist I didn't anticipate. I definately recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a thriller! "
-

C. Teresina | 8/5/2011
" Lots of psychological insights in this tale of a therapist trying to save a missing patient before she turns up dead. Well-rounded characters and plenty of twists and suspense. Hard to put down.
"
-

Malina | 7/15/2011
" Brilliantly written, gripping story of a psychiatrist looking for a missing patient while a serial killer is on the loose targeting prostitutes.
"
-

Carol | 7/10/2011
" definetly x-rated but fairly well written
"
-

Denise | 6/25/2011
" M.J. Rose is an entertaining writer. Her "Halo Effect" is not for everyone, given its sexually charged themes.
"
-

Judy | 5/16/2011
" Ita who done-it. I wasn't prepared for the graphic descriptions but that aside the story kept me engrossed and anxious to find out who the perp was.
"

" This was an interesting story but not too memorable
i prefered this to her others as less sex involved andf introduced the characters for her later books
"

" The story of a sex therapist who is tied into murders is written much differntly than most thrillers. All of the chapters that include Dr. Snow are written in the first person. And all of the remaining chapters are written in the third person.
"
