Publisher Description

Millenia Black's debut novel reveals how relationships are affected when individuals use duplicity to cover up bad choices. For six years, Reginald Brooks-slick Disney marketing VP-has pulled off the perfect scam. He has juggled two families without the other one finding out. He stays two weeks in Miami with his wife and two young adult daughters and the next two weeks in Orlando with his trophy mistress and their young daughter. But when the charade unravels, it's clear there's been a lot more pretending than anyone realized. Soon wide-ranging consequences begin to take their toll. "A real page-turner!"-Judith Henry Wall, author of My Mother's Daughter

"I enjoyed this one. It had an interesting plot and a dramatic and unexpected ending. Emotions and deception run high. However, I felt there were a few too many sub-plots mainly with the oldest daughter and her boyfriend and also the investigator/detective. Neither added to the story."

" It was a quick read. And that's the most positive thing I can think of to say. Embarrassingly shallow and utterly predictable. Would not have finished it if it weren't for my book club. "

" Not a good read for me. It was depressing, and depicted women as weak, depressed, self absorbed and ignorant. Really bad book for me. "

" This book was a real page-turner. I loved the characters and read this in 2 days because I was so anxious to find out what would happen next. Thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. I wish Ms.Black would consider writing more along this style of writing. "

" Although it was a fast read and not boring, I felt the writing was poor and I didn't like any of the characters and the morals in the story. I felt like I was wasting my time reading a trashy novel, not a book club pick. "

" Is it possible to give 0 stars? Because that's what The Great Pretender deserved. The only good part of that book was the book club discussion that came from it, which made me laugh so hard I almost fell off the couch. Really very, very terrible. "
