They are the Season sisters, bound by blood, driven apart by a tragedy. Now they are about to embark on a bittersweet journey into the unknown - an odyssey of promise and forgiveness, of loss and rediscovery.

Jillian, Beatrice and Rose have gathered for the funeral of their younger sister, Meredith. Her death, and the legacy she leaves them, will trigger a cross-country journey in search of a stranger with the power to mend their shattered lives. As the emotions of the past reverberate into the present, Jillian, Beatrice, and Rose search for the girls they once were, in hopes of finding what they really lost: the women they were meant to be.

" Four sisters with misunderstandings, broken relationships, misperceptions which eventually lead to openness and healing. "

" It's about 3 sisters who were once close but became lost in their own lives and how they are brought back together again through the last wish of their deceased sister. This book was interesting enough to hold my attention. Although some parts of the story were a little over the top and soap opera like. "

" This is a strait forward, happy ending story. The three of the four Season sisters - Jilly, Birdie & Rose have come together upon the death of the youngest, Merry. Merry was sickly and had the mental capacity of a child, but in her final days she spoke with the family lawyer and made a special request...that they find Spring, which is the name she used to refer to her doll & the baby that she was aware that Jilly had as a teen. All three of the surviving sisters were not in the best emotional states. Jilly, a thrice married Parisian model, was broke and drinking too much; Birdie's marriage to Dennis and her relationship with her daughter, Hannah, were both in trouble and rose was lonely and withdrawn after years of caring for Merry and also their mother. What follows the reading of the will is a journey of anguish and hope for the surviving sisters and Hannah and Dennis. It had an interesting premise & was well-written, but I don't understand the need to hint in even the most subtle way possible outcomes - that always frustrates me. "

" Loved this! Snappy charactors, sisters who love each other but spend most of the time at each other's throats. Some tragedy and darkness, fairy tale ending. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Sheero | 9/29/2010

" Good book altogether, some parts were especially moving emotionally, since author has a way with difficult situations. Heartfelt. Great study of crippling disability effect on a family. Somewhat weaker towards the end when things suddenly work out for all characters as history repeats itself. "
