Laura Patterson is an American exchange student in Rome who, fed up with being inexpertly groped by her young Italian beaus, decides there's only one sure-fire way to find a sensual man: date a chef. Then she meets Tomasso, who's handsome, young, and cooks in the exclusive Templi restaurant. Perfect. Except, unbeknownst to Laura, Tomasso is in fact only a waiter at Templi; it's his shy friend Bruno who is the chef. But Tomasso is the one who knows how to get the girls, and when Laura comes to dinner he persuades Bruno to help him with the charade. It works: the meal is a sensual feast, Laura is utterly seduced, and Tomasso falls in...lust. But it is Bruno, the real chef, who has secretly prepared every dish Laura has eaten, and who falls deeply and unrequitedly in love. Download and start listening now!

" And I am glad I started "The Food of Love" after last night's great dinner at La Tavola, or I'd be craving good Italian food right now intensely. As it is, this book makes me hungry for the kind of food I am just not going to get here in Korea. And reminds me so much of my fantastic trip to Italy and how absolutely amazing the food was there. I can't wait to go back one day. And eat a lot. A lot. "

" This book made me hungry....for some Italian food, for a trip to Italy, but moreso hungry for a plot that wasn't predicable and better character development. Strange premise overall with twists that were farfetched. I did like the descriptions of Italy and the food and that carried me through this light read for book club. "

" A really fun fluff read! Yay! "

" First,it's a juicy love story. Second, it's an interesting off-beat tour of Italy. Third, and most important to me, it reveals once and for all that haute cuisine is not an exclusive property of the French Very Italian, very gourmet, very funny, very sexy. Witty, satirical in places, sad in other places, but ultimately satisfying, Capella has captured personalities with style and precision. It is a joy for any reader who loves food to read about the dishes that Bruno creates. This was a yummy book because of the delicacies and because of the love story. "
