“I cannot wait to see where Del Toro and Hogan take us next.”
—James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author of Bloodline
The wait is over! Guillermo del Toro, one of Hollywood’s most popular and imaginative storytellers (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) and Hammett Award-winning thriller writer Chuck Hogan (Prince of Thieves) return with The Fall—the second blood-chilling volume in their critically acclaimed, New York Times bestselling Strain Trilogy. The Fall picks up where The Strain left off—with a vampiric infection spreading like wildfire across America as a small band of heroes struggles to save the dwindling human race from the vampire plague. "Great page turner. Loved the characters and The Fall is just as good. If you like stories about bass ass Vampires and not the Twilight stuff this will be for you. Vampire are portrayed as they should be.......nasty bloodsuckers! "

“I cannot wait to see where del Toro and Hogan take us next.”
— James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author“A rattling piece of escapism.”
— Times (London)“Taut pacing and macabre fight scenes…Scary.”
— Booklist“Relentlessly paves the way for what promises to be an epic third book.”
— Kirkus Reviews" just this the first it pulled me in. hope the last one is just as good "
— Aleece, 2/18/2014" This is book two of a trilogy. It is an easy read, which is why I chose to start it on the airplane ride out to Boca. Lot's of action, very fast paced, and a well done vampire thrilled from a medical science point of view. "
— Ridgewalker, 2/10/2014" Very interesting take on Vampires. I enjoy how descriptive the writing is, this is a book that can keep you up at night. "
— Stepha, 2/5/2014" Not as good as the first book in the trilogy, but still compelling, especially as regards the characters we've grown to appreciate/worry about. The book does read like episodic television/mini-series, but that's not a bad thing. "
— JulieLaLa, 1/21/2014" Elements of style and some cool ideas made it almost entertaining but the vampire genre is just too moldy to bare any fear fruit and the nihilistic splatter film elements just made me bored, killing any sense or wonder, surprise, or terror that this book could muster. Save yourself time, watch Blade II, and leave this trilogy on the shelf. "
— Isaac, 12/25/2013" del Toro's vampires are terrifying and unattractive. Apocalyptic fiction at it's best! "
— Dianne, 12/10/2013" These are not your "glitter in the sunlight",flavor of vamps. Book two of the Strain trilogy. "
— Jean-Paul, 11/29/2013" A fun zombie/vampire (zompire? vambie?) action thriller. Quick-paced and interesting, a good summer read. "
— Stacy, 11/1/2013" Loved it, finished it in a couple of weeks. Don't read in the dark. "
— Susan, 10/13/2013" Not as entertaining as The Strain nor The Night Eternal. I find it to be the least exiting book of the trilogy. "
— Giovanna, 10/8/2013" A fun read, quick, easy, painless. Definitely good to read the series in order (I.e. Read The Strain first). I read this in two days, and when I finished, I would have started the next tome if it were available. Won't hold my breath, but am interested to see where it goes, how it ends. "
— Sainte, 7/21/2013" Not as good as Book 1, The Fall, but still good enough to rank high on my 'scariest' and 'best vampire' reads. "
— Only1pbj, 7/17/2013" stayed up all night and finished it but partly because it was too hot to sleep. nevertheless the story was still intriguing. really liked the old man. Though from the reviews of the 3rd book. not sure I'll want to finish the triology "
— Sisiely, 1/7/2013" A great follow-up to The Strain. "
— Krista, 5/20/2012" A great continuation of the previous novel. "
— Marianna, 3/1/2012" Can't wait for the third book! It was refreshing to get back to vampires that aren't cute and lovable. "
— Shay, 2/21/2012" Brilliant! The author gives the new tradition of vampire novels a great new twist! This is an epic start to a enthralling trilogy! "
— Glen, 2/3/2012" it was alright. I liked the action at the end but the book was slow until then "
— Jeepster, 1/19/2012" Good follow-up of The Strain. "
— Dominique, 10/4/2011" If your in the mood to be scared then this is the book for u. Not the usual vampire romance, totally the opposite. "
— Bharti, 5/23/2011" It got off to a good start and I enjoyed the background and historical perspective, however I felt that it meandered and turned into more of a rote blood and gore story towards the end. The book seemed overly long. "
— Tbergamin, 5/22/2011" Del Toro's film background really comes out in The Strain. It reads fast, like a movie. A good concept, but I wasn't left dying to know what happens in the next book. "
— Lindsay, 5/21/2011" The first book in a trilogy. A plane lands in New York and everybody on it is dead. Guess, what? Vampires, bitch! I liked it and look forward to the rest of the books in the trilogy. "
— Dirk, 5/19/2011" interesting concept. different from other vampire books. at times it would get exciting but for the most part the pace was just too slow. "
— Stephanie, 5/16/2011" This book just kept getting worse and worse. I finally had to give up on it. "
— Ken, 5/13/2011" This was the book that got me interested in supernatural and horror. The story is an interesting take on vampire fiction and an all around eerie read. "
— Jotale, 5/11/2011" Loved this book! It's like the love child of Salem's Lot and CSI. "
— Lisa, 5/6/2011" An interesting and new approach to the whole thriller/horror. Found it to be a great page turner and liked the way the tension was built up and was looking forward to the sequel (until I read it) "
