Publisher Description

Daughters Rule Number Six: Never talk to the press about your parents.

After leaking a story about the family business, impetuous high school freshman Carina Jurgensen is cut off by her billionaire father. Always resourceful, she fibs her way into a job as a party planner for New York's annual Silver Snowflake Ball. But when Carina finds out that the party committee expects favors and freebies from her dad's A-list connections, a choice must be made: Does she get real about her downgraded status, or pretend she's still the ultimate heiress?

Best friends and fellow daughters of celebrities Lizzie Summers, Carina Jurgensen and Hudson Jones are back in Joanna Philbin's second stylish and heartfelt Daughters novel.

"The Daughters series is one of the best that I have ever read!!!!! In this book I am shown how being famous can totally tear families apart...............though love can piece it back together. The true meaning of friends is all here, through relationships, fights, and being there when needed, these friends (Carina, Lizzie, and Hudson) are some of the best I have ever seen. Happy book I must say and always a suspenseful ending that makes you read the next book. No doubt it is 5 stars! You must read this book!"

Quotes

  • “As breezy a read as this is, there are some moments between Carina and her dad that are quite moving. Philbin covers all bases here.”

    — Booklist
  • “Will engage younger teens who aren’t quite ready for Cecily von Ziegesar’s Gossip Girls series.”

    — School Library Journal
  • “Writing with a light tone that should appeal to a young female audience, the author chisels a little depth into the niche of chick lit. She makes readers care for her heroes and disdain her villains, and if the plot twist is predictable, that’s fine for this genre.”

" Eh...so so book about a rich daughter of a billionaire. her father cuts off her money supply, takes away her iphone and her limo and in return gives her an out of date cell, a subway pass and $20 weekly spending cash. I had no connection to this book, I've already forgotten the main characters name! The one thing I do remember is that it is super clean with one use of the word "shit." No references to sex and no drugs. A sweet romance with a skater boy DJ, who is from the wrong side (basically not rich) of the tracks redeems the book. This one is the second in a series. "

" I'ts been a long while since I've done somethin like this, and that has given me enough time to consider this book. The Daughters series isn't bad, but I'm not sure I like it very much. That's all I have to say about it really, as it si well-written, but under a differnent topic than the onw which I'm perusing right now. "

" This book was ok, but I don't really like it when the series switches main characters. It just draws my focus away from everybody and I end up forgetting what happens. But that's just me. But yeah, plot line was good. I liked the first book in the series the best. :) "
