"Possibly the author I'm most excited about in recent years, Kiernan's fantasy retelling of historical Europe is incredibly well crafted. Her characters are realistically drawn and grow throughout each book. The Crowded Shadows explores medieval coming of age through the eyes of its protagonist, Wynter Moorehawke. A young girl, first experiencing deception, betrayal, inhumanity, love and passion, Wynter struggles to find her way with the help of Christopher and Razi. Fabulously drawn characters! Love this." — Victoria (5 out of 5 stars)

" I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this book! It has a very good ending. "
" This book totally threw me in the middle of the book. It sort of went where I didn't expect it to go. It lagged a bit towards the end too and the ending left me wondering where some of the relationships are going. On the good side though I'm totally in dire need of the last book in the trilogy as i HAVE to find out how it all ends up. This is definitely one of my favorite series I've read so far this year. "
" I loved this book! can't wait to read the third one! "
" Seemed more like a place holder than an actual volume of the story. "
" :) i like the australian covers the best "
" What a book xD the best part was understanding the Merron lingo WiTHOUT the glossary- I've discovered a use for the Gaeilge in school... Finally ^.^ "
" I found this book pretty irritating sometimes because the characters, especially Christopher, tended to withhold important information and I often found myself wondering what was happening in the story. "
" Alright, nothing great. She's in love with her characters, but me, not so much. "
" almost as good as the first - compelling and full of suspense "
" The Crowded Shadows was an excellent book. Wynter and Chris's relationship grew furthur, some mysteries were revealed, and there was some sorrow in the mix as well. A perfect balance! "
" The sequel to The Poison Throne. As equally a pile of twisted, complex and well written characters. I really love the intense atmosphere these books have. They are certainly the high fantasy of YA lit. I cannot wait for the epic finale. "
" I loved this 2nd installment of the trilogy! I can't wait to finish this! This is a must have in your library. "
" LOVED this book. Better than the first. Already into book 3 and sad that it will be over in a couple of days. "
" ~The 2nd of the Moorhawke Trilogy. "
" I have to say, this book is really good. I loved the first book, The Poison Throne. This one's has a bit more action, I think. When the rebel prince, Alberon shows up and all. Anyway, it was good. "
" This series was so marvelous I stayed up to 4 in the morning a couple of nights in a row to read all three books back to back. I sure wish this author had some series for me to read. "
" Not as good as the first book. Too much time spent of learning about other cultures instead of moving the characters along their journey. "
