Publisher Description

Horatia Winwood is the youngest and the least attractive of the three Winwood sisters. She also has a stammer. But when the enigmatic and eminently eligible Earl of Rule offers for her oldest sister's hand - a match that makes financial and social sense, but would break her heart - it is Horatia who takes matters into her own impetuous hands. Can she save her family's fortune? Or is she courting disaster? Witty, charming, elegant, and always delightful, Georgette Heyer - the undisputed queen of Regency Romance - brings the whole period to life with deft precision and glorious characters.

"The humor in this book made me chuckle out loud. The antics of the heroine are charming. One of my favorite historicals in a while. I am so glad that I was introduced to Heyer recently. "

" One of Heyer's earlier books (I believe) and quite amusing. I especially enjoyed the Viscount and his friends and the crazy situations in which Horry and etc. find themselves. "

" I thought the girl was kind of a brat, and the guy had a mean streak. The story itself isn't bad, and I actually enjoyed all the secondary characters. They were the best part, now that I think about it, especially Horatia's brother. "

" Ben scritto, con stile e classe che ricordano Jane Austen, ma la mancanza di passione e sentimenti forti lo rendono un romance troppo atipico per i miei gusti. "
