William Somerset Maugham (1874–1965) was born in Paris, the son of a British embassy official, and grew up in England. He studied medicine and officially qualified as a doctor before turning to writing. One of the twentieth century’s most popular novelists as well as a celebrated playwright, critic, and short-story writer, he also served as a secret agent for the British during World War I.
John de Lancie is an actor and voice-over artist known for his numerous television roles, including Star Trek, Stargate SG-1, and Breaking Bad. He has also been featured in the popular Assassins Creek video game series and has appeared on stage at the American Shakespeare Festival, the Seattle Repertory Company, and the Old Globe, among others. He is married to actress-singer Marnie Mosiman, and they have two sons, Keegan and Owen.
Kirsten Potter has won several awards, including more than a dozen AudioFile Earphones Awards and been a three-time finalist for the prestigious Audie Award for best narration. Her work has been recognized by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts and by AudioFile magazine, among many others. She graduated with highest honors from Boston University and has performed on stage and in film and television, including roles on Medium, Bones, and Judging Amy.
Kate Burton, an Earphones Award–winning narrator, is best known for her work on Broadway in Hedda Gabler, The Elephant Man, The Constant Wife, and Spring Awakening, as well as on television in Grey’s Anatomy and Empire Falls. Her films include Big Trouble in Little China, The Ice Storm, Unfaithful, and Remember Me. She played the title role in Alice in Wonderland with her father, Richard Burton, on PBS.
Rosalind Ayres is a leading English actress whose many movies include the Oscar-winning Gods and Monsters and Titanic. Her audio performances have won awards in both Britain and the United States, including AudioFile Earphones Awards.
André Sogliuzzo has been working in the Los Angeles region for the past fifteen years as a voice actor. He has provided voices for countless characters in movies, animated programs, and video games, though he has also had some appearing roles in several movies. André’s area of expertise is the wide array of accents that he can provide for various characters, which has permitted him to work with some of the best voice actors and actresses in the country.
