A brand new unabridged recording of Philippa Gregory’s classic bestseller featuring an Afterword read by the author!
From “the queen of royal fiction” (USA TODAY) comes this New York Timesbestseller featuring three very different women whose fates are each bound by a bloody curse: the legacy of the Boleyn family.
After the death of his third wife, Jane Seymour, King Henry VIII of England decides to take a new wife, but this time, not for love. The Boleyn Inheritancefollows three women whose lives are forever changed because of the king’s decision, as they must balance precariously in an already shaky Tudor Court.
Anne of Cleves is to be married to Henry to form a political alliance, though the rocky relationship she has to the king does not bode well for her or for England.
Katherine Howard is the young, beautiful woman who captures Henry’s eye, even though he is set to marry Anne. Her spirit runs free and her passions run hot—though her affections may not be returned upon the King.
Jane Rochford was married to George Boleyn, and it was her testimony that sent her husband and infamous sister-in-law Anne to their deaths. Throughout the country, her name is known for malice, jealousy, and twisted lust.
The Boleyn Inheritance is a novel drawn tight as a lute string about three women whose positions brought them wealth, admirations, and power, as well as deceit, betrayal, and terror.

"Having enjoyed many other books by Philippa Gregory, I was excited to dig into this book! I found a hard cover copy of this book at Goodwill, so of course I had to pick it up. I've only ever read and watched about the first two of Henry the 8th's wives, so it was interesting to read about these two that came after his third wife. A properly raised young woman from Cleves and a silly young fifteen-year-old girl from England, all but emotionally abused by King Henry, and for Katherine Howard, even worse. I have to say that I really loved reading all of the different points of view from Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Jane Boleyn. I really loved reading about Anne of Cleves, because for the most part, she escaped King Henry's wrath compared to what he did to all of his other wives. Katherine Howard was so young, it disgusted me to know she had to be married to an almost fifty-year-old man! Of course, that was how it was back then. I never really liked Jane Boleyn to begin with, but I really did not like her as the book came to an end. I've always enjoyed books like these, especially from this author, so I will definitely read more. I'm really reading these books because I love the history of this time, and fictonal stories. Put it together, and I'll read all of these books for days! ~Brooke~"

“Historical powerhouse Gregory again brings the women of Henry VIII’s court vividly to life…Rich in intrigue and irony, this is a tale where readers will already know who was divorced, beheaded or survived, but will savor Gregory’s sharp staging of how and why.”
— Publishers Weekly (starred review)" I'm not much of a review writer, but the website asked me for my opinion and I'll give it. I enjoyed the Boleyn inheritance. It deals with the wives after Anne Boleyn, including Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard, as well as Jane Parker. These characters might be less interesting to some than Anne Bolyen, but I enjoyed the humane and thoughtful treatment of Anne of Cleves and what her thoughts and feelings might have been like. I like to sleep with audio books on and I had to take a few parts of the book out of my playlist, since they are hard and painful. Katherine Howard is spiritedly and foolish, and I felt it might be a good representation. I found the dour representation of Jane Parker too cynical for my taste, but its not an unreasonable representation. I liked the narration and voices, which is not always the case with these books for me. "
— Michelle-ellethekitty.ca, 5/4/2017" Love these books. I always end up spending a few hours afterwards googling the real stories of King Henry VIII. What a crazy fella. Philippa Gregory does a great job of moving the book along and making it a page-turner. "
— Maria, 2/19/2014" I liked reading about the lesser known backgrounds of Ann of Cleves &Kathern Howard. "
— Alice, 2/6/2014" Not as good as the others I've read by Gregory. "
— Alexis, 1/20/2014" A very good historical read about the wives of Henry the VIII. Loved the way she built the characters. "
— Valerie, 1/12/2014" It was another really amazing book! "
— Tanna, 1/1/2014" Gregory did a wonderful job telling the stories of the three ladies (Katherine Howard, Anne of Cleves and Jane Boleyn) separately, but together. It flowed well, was easy to read and the ending was one of her best! She made boring Anne of Cleves almost ..interesting. "
— Alyson, 12/18/2013" I semi-quite liked this book. "
— Dorothy, 12/15/2013" Not as good as The Other Boelyn Girl, but interesting. I love this time period! "
— Melissa, 12/3/2013" The story of 3 key women in the life of Henry VIII Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard and Jane Boleyn with the narrative voice moving between them in a way that told the story in a very believable way with each voice very different and appropriate to the speaker. "
— Kate, 11/21/2013" Philippa Gregory is master of the "Tudor Era" genre. Her historical fiction is brilliant and always good read. "
— Adele, 11/12/2013" Not as good as the rest of the series. This one seemed like odds and ends cobbled together. A pretty dreary story. "
— Nancy, 10/17/2013" Not as good as The Other Boleyn Girl! "
— Alison, 9/26/2013" Couldn't put it down, very well written. "
— Lucy, 9/5/2013" Anything related to the Tudors/Boleyns wins my heart over and this is one of my favourites. "
— Ashleigh, 7/21/2013" Typical of her books, I couldn't put this one down. Loved it! "
— Tonya, 6/19/2012" Now that I have read this book I have an urge to get my hands on books about Henry VII and his wives. This was fun to read with three women at the mercy of the King's whim and the danger of living at this court full of conspiracies and led by a madman. "
— Eveline, 6/14/2012" My favourite Philippa Gregory book. It was nice to have a book about Henry VIII's wives WITHOUT Anne Boleyn. (Even though shes mentioned) "
— Andrea, 2/7/2012" This book follows where "The Other Boleyn Girl" left off. It takes on three character perspectives and as a result, it's not as well written as the previous novel. However, it's still an interesting read. It's nice to have a little more background (even if it is fiction) on two of Henry's queens. "
— Jen, 1/10/2012" putting this one on hold, it was good, I just wasn't in the mood for it right now.... "
— Sher, 12/5/2011" I thought it was better than The Other Boleyn Girl, but I wanted to read more from Anne of Cleves' point of view, not the other 2 characters. Then again, it wouldn't be called The Boleyn Inheritance without the other ones. Still, a good book. "
— Stephen, 11/24/2011" Loved reading a book where Anne of Cleeves actually was a main character. "
— MissyLynne, 11/4/2011" I love this book. Phillippa Gregory writes beautifully. all of her work is amazing. "
— Morgan, 7/19/2011" This was pretty readable and interesting, in spite of already knowing how it was going to end. I was entertained and kept reading to see how Anne was going to keep her head.

"
— Thea, 6/22/2011" the author's detailed research makes life inCourt very real "
— Grandma, 6/21/2011" Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard, Henry VIII and George Boleyn's widow. Great stuff. I love this period, this great author of historical fiction. Gets one thinking about tyranny, the limitations of earlier times, the minds that shaped history and formed the path we continue on. "
— Mom, 6/15/2011" I enjoy learning about this time period through Ms. Gregory stories. She tells the story weel and made me want to know more about what else happened in this time period. "
— Tina, 6/13/2011" I really enjoyed this book more than The Other Boleyn Girl. It was great to get some insight into the story of Anne of Cleves and Catherine Howard. I loved how Philippa Gregory had three narrators of the story who were so completely, yet convincingly, different to each other. Great Book. "
— Phil, 6/11/2011" I really liked this book! Katherine Howard (Henry's 5th wife) just made this book for me. Definitely a worthy Tudor read! "
— Amy, 6/10/2011" I don't read as much as I listen to audio books for my daily exercises.
I just loved this book. It lit an love and interest and curiosity of the lifestyle of women back in the Tudor era. "
— Pris, 6/7/2011" Oh, how I wish there were more than five stars to rate this book. "
— Alice, 6/5/2011" Not as good as her others. "
— Makmama, 6/4/2011" I dislike books in multiple points of view, and I believe this is one of those books. "
— Jennifer, 6/3/2011" A super follow up to 'The other Boleyn Girl' thoroughly enjoyable. Was interesting to see such a detailed portrayal of Jane Boleyn. "
