About the Authors

Maureen Child is a USA Today bestselling romance author. She has written over ninety books and has been nominated for the RITA Award five times. Child writes under a variety of pen names; as Kathleen Kane she writes primarily paranormal romances, and as Ann Carberry she writes western historical romances. As herself Child is best known for her Bachelor Battalion series and a variety of stand-alone novels, including The Part-Time Wife, Loving You, Some Kind of Wonderful, A Crazy Kind of Love, and others. Her novel A Pocketful of Paradise was made into a television movie called The Soul Collector, staring Melissa Gilbert, Bruce Greenwood, and Ossie Davis. She currently lives in Southern California with her family.

Elizabeth Lane graduated from the University of Utah and worked as a teacher, a proofreader, and an educational software designer in a job that included writing children’s stories. Many of the children’s books she wrote are still in print. Her first book for adults, Mistress of the Morning Star, was published in 1980. After publishing five more novels and ghost-writing two others, she began writing for Harlequin’s line of historical novels.
