"This book was very good! I loved the true stories of people who have overcome some amazing issues! I highly recommend it if you enjoy true stories. I read this book in about 1 day on vacation which I hardly ever read anything that fast!"

“Kotb tells the remarkable stories of six people who overcame trials and tragedies to become successful and happy individuals…Sobering and inspiring tales in their own right, Kotb’s journalistic acumen makes this collection all the more moving.”
— Publishers Weekly" Very motivational and an excellent concept for a book. Would have given it 4.5 if I had the option. "
— Deanna, 2/17/2014" This book featured a diverse group of 6 people who all faced very traumatic or seemingly insurmountable events in their lives and eventually came through them. I did find the subject interesting-most people face some form of tragedy in their lives and for some it ruins and stunts them forever, while others plod through, and go on to live, create, and be, more, in spite of it all. What is the difference? Most of my tragedies have been by proxy and I would like to think I have gotten through my difficulties relatively unscathed. The only advice that I ever offer, and seemed to be a common thread of these individuals, is to just to keep going. It's sounds too simple, is always going to be easier said than done, but is really the only option. "
— Jennifer, 2/16/2014" Definitely inspirational and encouraging. "
— Shameka, 2/15/2014" I liked it. Thought a couple of stories were awfully long although they needed the length because of the subject. Especially enjoyed the story about Ramona Quixby. Was very touched by the 9/11 story. "
— Sue, 2/6/2014" Fast, heartwarming and light book. A good beach read "
— Mary, 1/29/2014" I love Hoda, but this book didn't really live up to what I expected. The people featured in the stories did face a number of challenges, but often it was made to seem like it was no big deal. As someone who has gone through some tough times lately, I kind of hoped maybe some of the things that I read in this book might encourage or inspire me, but they really didn't. The only one who felt "real" and relatable was the 9/11 survivor, because his story seemed to tell more about the emotions behind his story instead of just focusing on the timeline of events. "
— Amanda, 1/14/2014" A great book to help you realize how much your life changes over the years. What seems like a period you will never live through becomes the catalyst for your greatest achievements. Loved it! "
— Karen, 1/12/2014" I enjoyed reading this book! "
— Ingrid, 12/31/2013" I liked the six individuals provided in this book- their stories were very interesting and varied greatly in the adversity they faced. "
— Amy, 12/30/2013" Well written and interesting. Amazing what the human body, heart and soul can overcome when the will and the drive is there. "
— Denise, 12/19/2013" Yep, inspiring stories. "
— Heidi, 12/11/2013" Better than I expected - very touching & inspiring "
— Jaime, 11/2/2013" Amazing read, so inspirational! "
— Tiffany, 10/24/2013" I picked it up thinking it would be an inspirational read, but I didn't find it as much as I thought. I guess I find more to celebrate in the simple things of life rather than over-the-top. "
— Mickalene, 8/4/2013" When you hate the person who lost 340 pounds and escaped an abusive relationship, and then you hate the person who survived cancer TWICE...I don't think you have a very well-written or inspiring book! "
— Amy, 7/31/2013" This book has Hoda on the cover, but is very much other people's stories brought together. It was an "ok" read but not at all what I expected. The stories also seemed to lose steam as it progressed. The first 3 stories were a lot more engaging than the second 3. "
— Betsy, 6/1/2013" Did not hold my interest. "
— Laurie, 5/30/2013" Wow. This book really makes you reflect on yourself and your goals and what is holding you back. All were inspirational stories of individuals who changed their lives. Time to get off the couch folks! "
— Annice, 4/24/2013" Amazing lives of amazing people!! They touched my heart! "
— Donalee, 4/20/2013" Fast read with inspiring stories as only Hoda can tell them. "
