"This is the second Sara Zarr book I've read and the second time I've been touched by her stories. They are well crafted and thought provoking. She seems to find an unexplored angle of teenage life. In Sweethearts, she rekindles a childhood relationship and explores all the emotions and difficulties of growing up. I appreciated that she tackled abuse without creating a horrible situation the reader had to endure. Her "children" escaped the abuse. At least the worst of it."

" Amazing. I Cried. ._. Hard. I Cried Hard. And I Cry At Books Because They Take Me Into A Different World. :D Well This One Deffently Did. In A Good Way Though. I Loved It. And It Was Just Great. No Need For Words. "
— Maddie, 2/15/2014" This was by far one of the best books I have ever read. Cameron and Jennifer's relationship was beautifully vivid and the end of the book had me in tears. Not what you would expect from a typical teen romance novel. Sweethearts will continue to stay in your heart long after you've read the book. "
— Vicky, 1/24/2014" I read this book in one long car ride. It left me asking questions and I was really touched by this story, surprisingly. It was a breath of fresh air in the bookstore shelves that are overpopulated with vampires and high school cliques. "
— Rachael, 1/17/2014" loved the story allthough it didnt end the way i was wanting it to. "
— Stephanie, 12/27/2013" The book sweetheart was an amazing book, I recommend for those who wanna read a sweet, and teen love story go grab the book sweethearts by sara zarr "
— Heidi, 12/27/2013" This book is very interesting, its very mysterious and very good. Its about this girl that becomes friends with this boy and they felt luke they didn't belong in the popular group so they became good friends. One day cameron the boy left her and dissaperared "
— Kadee, 12/26/2013" I just couldn't get into Sweethearts. The writing seemed choppy and the narration exacerbated the situation. I didn't like the main character. "
— Tressa, 12/14/2013" Honestly, the only reason I read this one, was because it fit the criteria for a reading challenge. It was so-so. "
— Heather, 12/11/2013" I couldn't put this book down. I really enjoyed reading about Jenna's struggle to overcome her unhappy past. The only thing I didn't like was the ending, which was incredibly unsatisfying. "
— Wendopolis, 12/9/2013" I liked this story except for the ending. The author build up the story and kind of rushed the ending and I did not like it so much. "
— Rosalinda, 4/20/2013" I have a feeling this book is going to be one of a few that will haunt me and keep me thinking. It is, in its own way, a love story, but not a traditional one and one that forces you to reconsider everything. Fabulous, true, and heart wrenching. "
— T., 8/10/2012" I liked elements of this book but it didn't quite hang together or flesh out. Characters are pretty flat but notes she hits about friends and parents ring true - like her perspective on being a non-Mormon in Utah too. "
— Kyla, 6/11/2012" i think it is cool how camren showed up in her class one day it was ssooooo cool to me "
— kristen, 3/9/2012" This book actually made me cry. Maybe I did not get the whole point since I was still young, but I really liked it. "
— Elle, 11/9/2011" I had high hopes for this book after rave reviews from several friends. It was blah from start to finish. Very disappointing. "
— Patti, 11/1/2011" This book really tugged at my heart. "
— Robin, 9/5/2011" I agree with Nancy Werlin's review of this book. I couldn't say it much better. "
— Bev, 7/10/2011" the story is sweet, but i don't like the ending. it's to realistic for my taste ;) "
— Nielam, 5/22/2011" This book is a romance novel without being a romance novel. It's not mushy or drawn out or ridiculously immature. It's amazing. I'm literally in love with this book. "
— Natalie, 5/22/2011" I thought this book was okay, I didn't really like the ending but I thought it sent a good message. The relationship between Cameron and Jennifer is something that I envy although it hurts them both. I feel that the feelings in this book were conveyed to the reader really well. "
— Jessica, 5/19/2011" The writing was very good in this book. However the story was not what I expected. Frankly I expected a romance based on the description. In fact the book was rather sad. "
— Karla, 5/14/2011" Amazing, read it? No? Your loss. "
— Jesse, 5/8/2011" its awesome when her bestfriends comes back and falls in love and how shes so.... different now "

— Resa, 4/29/2011" Cover and title make it appear to be a fluffy romance, but it's much more. I thought it was well done. "
— Bree, 4/24/2011" A well developed story with good writing, but lacking in excitement. "
— LuckyCharmer, 4/22/2011" This book had some parts in it that made me sad; but in the end, it was a fantasticly wonderful read. "
