Publisher Description

The successful but lonely daughter of a powerful New York theater icon falls for her childhood imaginary friend in this touching love story.

As a little girl, Jane has no one. Her mother, a powerful Broadway producer, makes time for her only once a week, for their Sunday trip to admire jewelry at Tiffany's. Jane has only one friend: a handsome, comforting, funny man named Michael. He's perfect. But only she can see him.

Years later, Jane is in her thirties and just as alone as ever. Then she meets Michael again-as handsome, smart and perfect as she remembers him to be. But not even Michael knows the reason they've really been reunited.

Sunday at Tiffany's is a love story with an irresistible twist, a novel about the child inside all of us and the boundary-crossing power of love.

"This was a cute diversion from what Patterson usually writes. Very easy to read with an intriguing, yet somewhat intangible plot line surrounding a girl and her imaginary friend. All in all, a cute love story from Patterson's lighter side of fiction. "

Quotes

  • “What do women want? At this point in his career Mr. Patterson probably has a better answer than Freud did.”

    — New York Times
  • “Patterson, here partnering with children’s book author Charbonnet, diverges from his usual mix of blood, suspense, and terror with this captivating tale of a young woman and her soul mate…Outstanding narration by Ellen Archer…one of best readers in the business. Highly recommended.”

    — Library Journal (audio review)
  • “Ellen Archer gives a delicate shading to this story of unexpected love. She transitions from the childhood Jane to the adult Jane with a subtle change in tone while keeping Jane’s essential speech patterns. Archer’s portrayal of Jane’s powerful mother is just as convincing as those of Jane and Michael. Throughout the book, Archer resists the story’s pull toward sentimentality and keeps the performance both thoughtful and entertaining.”

    — AudioFile
  • “Entertaining…Readers looking for a romantic escape will enjoy [this book].”

    — Midwest Book Review
  • “A love story with an irresistible twist.”

    — Woodstock Sentinel-Review (Canada)

Awards

  • A #1 New York Times bestseller
  • A USA Today bestseller
