Publisher Description

Three stories of magical genies, far off lands and flying carpets by the multi-award-winning author Anne Fine.

In A Sudden Puff of Glittering Smoke, a disgruntled genie who appears on Jeanie's desk at school appears to be the answer to her problems, but she quickly discovers that she and her genie have very different views of the world.

In A Sudden Swirl of Icy Wind, William accidentally releases Mustapha, the genie of the bottle, and things start to happen, while in A Sudden Glow of Gold, Toby dusts off an old brass lamp, and he too releases a genie.

" I'm sure I must have liked this book when I was a kid but it doesn't really do anything for me now. Same old story. Kid gets a genie, none of the wishes turn out correct and everything goes wrong. The end. "
