"I love this series! It's light-hearted: murder + baked goods = enjoyableness. I bought the next book in the series immediately after I finished reading this one. I'm excited that there are so many and I can't wait to see which suitor Hannah chooses - or if she chooses anyone!"

" I am really enjoying the books. I like them and the recipes are cute and fun too! Good Mystery & Fun all rolled into one. "
— Jon, 2/20/2014" Earlier this year, I've read the first book in the Hannah Swensen cozy series. Now I've recently read the next installment. In this book, Hannah's in charge of a bake-off contest as one of the judges, when she gets involved into the next murder, just weeks after she helped solve the first one. Still in winter, Boyd Watson's is found dead. And everyone is a suspect, including his wife Danielle. When Lucy Richards sneaks around for the scoop, she becomes suspicious and becomes missing days later. That's when Hannah discovers her blackmail scheme before she finds Lucy dead. It's up to Hannah to connect the dots before she becomes the next victim. Plus, she's still in the middle of a love triangle between Norman and Mike. As always, it includes yummy recipes. I'll be reading the third book next month. "
— Kristen, 2/20/2014" Better than the last one I read, but with fewer recipes. I'll keep reading for the recipes, the stories are only okay. "
— Vicki, 2/16/2014" A nice, solid cozy, less fluffy and silly than most. Again, Hannah's reason for getting involved made more sense than in many cozy mysteries; she was trying to protect her friend from being railroaded. Hannah and her sister, Andrea, make a good investigating team. They screw up all of the evidence, of course, but manage to get enough to catch the villain so all's well that ends well. "
— Cathy, 2/14/2014" Undemanding, enjoyable fluff. The recipes are great, don't read while hungry. "
— Karen, 2/7/2014" Good follow-up to first book. A bake-off has come to Lake Eden and Hannah is one of the judges... It kept me guessing to the end who was responsible for the deaths in this book. "
— Joy, 2/6/2014" Quite charming. A cozy mystery about a cookie shop owner. Nicely fleshed out characters. Not a bad plot line. I did figure out the killer near the end, but that's OK. This book was what I needed to get back on track. I felt like I was just stuck reading all these "great american novels". I liked this better than the Diane Mott Davidson books I read (only two). I think I identified with the heroine/protagonist better. Enjoyable. "
— Jennifer, 2/4/2014" This is a fun little series to read without thinking too awful much. I like the characters, and the cookie recipes sound scrumptious! This is book 2 of several and I'm sure I'll read them all! "
— Julie, 1/31/2014" These are my kind of mystery books: not too intense or scary. :) I really like the characters too. It makes me want to own a cookie shop of my own! "
— Sandee, 1/17/2014" The more I read these the more I like them! The story line it good, always leaves me hanging to the very end and I like the recipes in the book too. "
— Deanna, 1/13/2014" Again, the story was really cute. There's a few Stephanie Plum like moments, but in reality Hannah is her own character and doesn't get into the same unbelievable situations as Plum. I really enjoyed reading the story. It's a nice light, stress-free read. "
— Heather, 1/12/2014" Very sweet; somewhat unpredictable and I like the way the relationships between Hanna and her sister and Hanna and Lisa are unfolding. The Norman/Mike thing is already getting on my nerves, though! "
— Laura, 12/18/2013" Very cute! Minnesota based and great recipes "
— Lauren, 12/17/2013" The second in the series and again, a fun read. Love her recipes in this book too and can't wait to read her next one. "
— Neysa, 12/7/2013" Adorable! I'm so into this series. Hannah reminds me so much of myself. She's down to earth, funny, and thinks she needs to fix everything. Highly recommend all the Hannah Swenson novels. "
— Heather, 12/4/2013" This is another good baking murder mystery. Very enjoyable reading. "
— Amber, 12/3/2013" It was a good cozy mystery. "
— Stacey, 11/4/2013" A nice light read. I enjoy the mystery element as well as the baking element. "
— Pat, 11/2/2013" Nancy Drew...I mean Hannah Swensen has done it again! She kept me turning each page as fast as I could...and all those recipes! Can't wait to try them! "
— Julia, 3/25/2013" Cozy mysteries usually aren't my thing but this book keeps you on the edge of your seat. "
— Jeanne, 2/19/2013" Good mystery and good recipes-I like these "
— Rayline, 2/16/2013" I enjoyed this one just as much as the first one. I'm very happy that I've discovered this series. The mystery was interesting and the main characters are very likable. The third one in the series is next on my to-read list! "
— Amanda, 8/10/2012" I still really like the series (so far), but I've had to start and stop this book for several days so I couldn't connect as much as with the first book. But I am glad that such an awful character was the next to go. "
— Ali, 6/20/2012" A fun, short read. The main character is a little dense towards the end of the book, though. But I liked it enough to read the next one. "
— Donna, 12/5/2011" Very cute story! I really like this series. "
— Heidi, 10/11/2011" Fun, quick read. The ending was somewhat predictable though "
— Rachel, 4/28/2011" Cute, but predictable. Could have done without a lot of the backstory since I read the first book. "
— Alysia, 4/25/2011" This is another good baking murder mystery. Very enjoyable reading. "
— Amber, 4/19/2011" Another fun mystery packed with tasty-sounding recipes. Although there are thrilling moments, I like how this series also has a lighter tone and funny scenes compared to some of the other cooking mysteries I read. "
— Marissa, 4/12/2011" Another cute, quick murder mystery. There are I think 14 books in this series. I think I will read more when I need some lighter reading-in between the "heavier" reads. "
— Jami, 4/5/2011" Fun and well-paced! I loved the ending, and I don't mean the identity of the killer. I really look forward to the next book in this series. "
— February, 3/25/2011" Very cute story! I really like this series. "
— Heidi, 3/24/2011" Easy read and enjoyable for a cozy mystery. "
— Sue, 3/24/2011" A yummy read, gotta love the recipes. "
— Elle, 3/14/2011" I needed a beach book and this was perfect...short, fluffy, enough story line to hold the characters together and some fun recipes to recreate when I'm not on vacation! "
— Holly, 3/10/2011" Loving this series. I think I would love to move to lake Eden and be friends with the peopl in this town, but it just seems to cold! I'll settle for reading about their adventures.

"
— Hollya, 3/4/2011" Lake Eden has another murder! And this time it's a person no one really likes much. The killer was a suprise to me and I liked this book very much!!! 5 stars! "
— Booklover, 3/4/2011" Book 2 in Foodie mystery series--easy read, appealing characters. Good Kindle mind candy when you need a break or distraction. ;-) "
— Deb, 2/27/2011" This series has proved to be full of fun! I actually thought this book was a little better than the first. And the last recipe...the shortbread chocolate bar things! OMG-i'm going to have try those! "
— Maggie, 2/22/2011" This series is growing on me. "
— Mckaye, 2/4/2011" I didn't like this book as much as the first one. I think I may need a break from the series for a little bit. While I love the characters in this series I felt like it took a long time for the story to heat up in this case. "
